Hi, i'm wondering why when i connect this TV mainboard to an external 5v+ 12v p. supply and a pairnof programmers to access the debug Uart Exlink with minijack audio-style, i get strange seriesnof characters, i have tried to change almost all connection parameters but them aren't surey the problem, the supply lines signs slightly low voltages, about 0,5v less, is this why i'm having troubles?

if you get weird characters on the screen using a ttl on the uart port, it sounds like speed, stop bit parameters aren't set correctly. -

Solved the mistery, on the board there is a MP232EC that is a marking for a MAX3232 that is a 3v<>5/12v level shifter, so i was using the CH341A programmer with 3V serial, instead using it directly on the TTL 232 of my PC the LOG is all there!Comment

rs232 = serial = 10V (see max232)
TTL = 5V, 3.3V or 1.8VComment

Fixed a 9 year old UN55JU650 by replacing backlight. Original backlight LED was still working after 27k! hours but terrible picture of course. Few LEDs were out, 5-6 lens fell off (bright white spots) and another few popped off with slightest force. Surviving LEDs were all slightly blue so picture has a blue tint.

Hello, everyone!
A co-worker gave me a 55-inch Samsung TV model UN55MU6103F so I can try to fix the following problem... As soon as I plug it in to the wall, the TV turns on, and the display shows a few stripes all over the screen. I took off the back cover and disconnected both ribbon cables that go to the display (one at a time) so by doing that I can narrow down the bad section of the problem, but in both cases the display turns black. I know there are some voltages that I have to check (VGH, VGL, etc.) but don't know what reading each has to show. If anyone could guide me on this,... -
