Samsung 60" Plasma TV, Blinking Standby LED

A sports bar/restaurant with ~40 Samsung Plasma TVs. This is the 2nd TV that has a blinking standby LED. I'd like to learn how to repair these TVs because I'd guess that over time more and more of them will develop this symptom. My hope is to repair the bad PCB, however if that's not realistic then I'd replace the bad PCB.

    Model PN60F5300AF, Type PN60F5300, Model Code PN60F5300AFXZA

Upon applying power, the red standby is steady. When I tap the power button, the standby LED immediately blinks twice, then it blinks once ~ every 4 secs. Also, Upon applying power, the MB's green LED is off; when I tap the power button it immediately flashes twice (one short, one longer), then briefly blinks about once every 3 secs. No video is seen.

    Panel Info: Model S60fh-yb01, Date 2013-07-02, Vs 208, Va 57, Vsc -192, Ve 108.

    PCBs:
    PS: PSPF 3715003
    Main Board: BN41-01965
    X buffers: 60FF_XM & 60FF_XB
    Y Sustain: 60FF_YM
    Y Buffers: 60FF_YB_UP & 60FF_YB_LOW

    Actual panel voltages:
VS 208V (for a few seconds, then drops off)
VA 57V (for a few seconds, then drops off)
    VE 10V ... 8V ... 11.4V
VSC -2V (for a few seconds, then drops off)
It looks like VE & VSC are powered off of VS so maybe it's expected that they are nearly non-existent.

    PS CON1
STBY 5.2V in standby, same after tapping power button
PS-ON 3.3V in standby, 0.0V after tapping power button
VS-ON 0.0V in standby, 3.2V after ~1 sec from tapping power button
VS-CON 0.0V in standby, 1.5V after ~1 sec from tapping power button
    15V pins are 15.5V, 5.3V pins are 5.23V

Pics are in my GDrive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...EX?usp=sharing

FYI, this is my first post. Let me know if I'm doing it wrong.

I read elsewhere that one can test the PS standalone. I disconnected the two small cables, jumped PS_ON to gnd and jumped VS-ON to Standby via a resistor. I loaded VS via light bulbs. The PS came on and was steady. VS out was a little high, 213V so I set it to the panel's VS voltage, 208. Added PS 07.jpg to the GDrive share.

Anyone know if I can now test the XM and Y SUS board w/o damaging anything?

Watch this video. These capacitors fail very often. 106 = 10uf 50v. Im working on a 64" model now, waiting for capacitors, but the tv still has sound, so they should fix it.

I ordered blue disk caps for the "large" caps (1.0uF, 0.1uF). Those are on the Y SUS and Y Buffer PCBs. I saw two 220uF/25V electrolytic caps on the X board that may be leaking, so I ordered those too.

hello, my pn60f8500 there are power sources that power the BN44-00602A power supply board, I only have 1 working source, the other 0 volt source. is this normal?

This thread is RE a PN60F5300. You may want start a different thread for your pn60f8500.

I replaced the large uF blue ceramic caps, but the PS VS/VA rails still turns off after a couple seconds. Two electrolytic caps on the X board had a tiny dark spec near where the plastic folds over the AL top, which could have been a leak, unsure, so I replaced those.

                C4006 & C4015 - 220uF 25VDC

                C5013, C5127 - 106K 50V

                Y Low
                C5536, C5541, C5542, C5539, C5535, C5540 - 106K 50V

Does anyone know if I can test the Y SUS's power supplies by forcing the PS on while the X cable is connected to the Y SUS? I don't want to damage anything...

My 64" Samsung had the same problem. It's now fixed thanks to 3 10uf 50v caps.

I worked on the 2nd Samsung 60" Plasma today. It also had no video, Standby LED blinked. I swapped C5162 106K on the Y SUS board. It works again!
