Hi people,

I have not posted in a while glad to see the forum is still going strong

I ahve a 50 inch luxor branded TV, it works well but it will not let me reset / return and store the updated TV channels.

it works fine while powered on BUT...
Every time I switch it off (stand by or mains) the channel lists reverts back to the old channel listings.

I have reset it multiple times, tried to reset via the engineers menu, ran to see if any updates are alavilbe over the internet.

its about 2 years old and "smart" (ish)

I have attached the engineers info from the hidden menu if that helps.

I see from other posts vestel might send out an update over USB

At a guess the eeprom is not writing correctly when I make changes.

If you can help that would be great

ALL SAYS OK

apart from DDR Settings that says NOK

I should also say, when I do a reset from either menu (service or retune) the TV looks like it will reset then goes to standby mode

DDR is "Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory" so you may well be correct that the channels are not being saved in memory.
Do you have a well focused photo of your mainboard?

If this is your mainboard then it's really cheap to replace.

Not had the back of yet as I thought it would be a software issue. replaced many boards in vestels before but never had this fault was intrested in seeing if i could fix it with a firmware flash or such

It's nothing silly like it's gone into "Hotel Mode"

not in hotel mode, it lets you tune and modify everthing just does not let you save the changes when it powers down

its firmware issue.. since its Vestel mb110 you can use the service menu USB Operation to download all profile and write back or change what ever you want.
how to:
on PC format USB drive fat32 and great file in name DownloadProfile.mb110 ( the extention should be as it written .mb110 )
inset usb at the Tv and turn on go to service menu and press USB Operation ..

all file you will got on the usb drive... u can zip them and upload over here to modified them to you..if you like..
also . downgrade the firmware will be a good idea

okay. i download them.... hold on to inspect them

yours SW Profile all Normal. only you have Hotelmode was wrong encounter menu

delete all the file you download before.. just keep the file you generate with extension .mb110 and make folder on the usb with name ( profile ) and put the file attached after unzip inside profile folder and do the same way as you downloaded the files via service menu usb operation

Thanks for your help but it has not worked, TV is still acting in the same way

I added files to folder called profile, used the USB operations option in the service menu, when I retuned the TV and switched off it forgot all the channels again. it is not storing the changes I make.

downgrade the TV firmware.. or write a core firmware.. this is Turkey language page they have core recovery firmware for MB110 register required or any turkey member over here can help you by downloading.

tools to read and modified Language / SW / HW profile of Vestel Main boards , and other one stand alone only for edit SW Profile attached too to any one need.

this is driving me crazy, all the update and downgrades seem to work but even though the profile file says "HOTEL TV NO" when I boot the TV it says YES! and will not save the retune, or allow me to "reset" the TV from the TV tuning menu! a new board might be needed I think

after a few hours of messing around. I found a MB board that fitts from my stock of stuff.

again thanks for your help but this seems to be the olny way round. the TV is up and running again now with a replacement board!

Sometimes when you make a change in the service menu you have to follow a specific pattern. It's not always just change from Yes to No but could be press some other button to save the change? Just a thought.

this what i found at your SW_profile.bin was wrong at hotel mode menu.. it counter 0x000005 i changed it to 0x000000.
you can try edid the sw_profile with first attachment i put here.. under config find hotelmode.. and change it from TRUE to False and write it back to the TV... before you start to scann make hard reset

A little warning here. I have a polaroid with an identical board in (MB110) with microangelo + platinum firmware on.

Mine's about 2.5 years old too, mine started acting up, same way, not saving stuff, then one day it just decided not to switch back on, just kept flashing the stand by light every time.

I found a seller on eBay, after identifying the exact board needed, it cost me £11 + £3 p&p and about 5 minutes of time to replace it (Most of which was spent removing and putting screws in :-D ) and now I have a fully working TV again.

It seem's these MB110's (From what I've read elsewhere) have very poor nand ram in the SPI's, I've since had someone do some test on the old board, and they confirmed the spi chip is shot.
