Sony XBR-43XE800E - intermittent vertical streaks

I've looked at LCD troubleshooting guides posted here and I haven't tackled an LCD before. There's some similarity to the gate driver issues, except the pixels aren't truly stuck (actually it really reminds me of some self-inflicted underflow/overflow artifacts from back when I used to write image processing code; anyway...)

    Observations:
    • Intermittent vertical streaks of color on the panel near vertical edges in video. Still attached (am I allowed to attach video?) w/green streaks in red area, red/pink in the center.
    • Streaks always start at the same line (~4.5in from top), extending down. Final length varies from there to bottom.
    • Seems more likely to occur with darker areas in the video.
    • Does not appear specific to particular input or input resolution (SD/HD at least--don't have 4K content). Also seen on the built-in diag images & Android apps.
    • I reset the picture settings to default & turned off all the enhanced processing options I could find w/no change

Thanks for reading. Trying to decide if this is something best left to real professionals, though it might be fun.

    by gpo23
    Hello,

    i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

    Thank you for your help

Sony Trinitron (KV-20FV12) Vertical Deflection Stopped
    by motorahead
Hi everyone, I've been troubleshooting my 20" Sony Trinitron (KV-20FV12) CRT after it failed to show a picture. The standby LED is blinking 4 times, which according to the service manual is a failed vertical deflection via the self-diagnostic check during power up.

After getting the TV checked out by a technician and doing research on my own. The most obvious first step was to replace the IC502. I've done so with an exact NOS replacement with no luck. I've read a few suggestions to make sure the 12V supply to pin 2, but that voltage check would seem misleading? It seems if the...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
    by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

    Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines
    by dustman1747
I have acquired a Sony XBR-65X900H to try and fix. It probably was a complete no power situation. The main board was replaced and the TV started turning on. I now have start sounds and backlights, but no image. I've replaced the t-con with no improvement. Cables all appear to be ok and seated properly. The TV took a firmware update and hard reset but neither helped.

Using the tape trick I can get both side to display combinations of colored vertical lines. There is no change in the stripes and the pattern always appears the same. If I add additional tape strips I can get the screen...
