    LG 42LE5900 PSU issue

I've recently inherited an LG 42LE5900 via a friend; who got it off a colleague who upgraded to something better.

Unfortunately, having powered it up there is a loud buzzing noise from the power supply – increasing when there is a increase in the load on the PSU.
I've cracked it open, the caps on the front side all look fine, the output voltages are okay etc; but that's as far as I can get with the LG service manual - which doesn't cover the power board…

Looking at the back of the board, it looks like one of the surface mount diodes may have overheated.

The diode is D204, its located near the mechanical relay so may well be a flyback diode; one end terminates on the ground plane. I'm slightly limited in the diagnostic equipment I have available but it is reading 31 ohms in both directions which might suggest a short.

Is anyone in possession of any schematics for the EAY60803201 or had a similar experience with one of these TVs?

Take that diode out and measure it out of circuit.

That diode is across the relay coil, it is not your problem.

So the tv IS working? If not what are you doing to increase the load on the power supply?

The TV works, the loud buzzing is a bit concerning though..

Using the menu system or displaying anything white increases the load enough to make the buzzing really quite loud.

If you power it up with the back off, the noise does seem to be located around the pair of (what I assume are) inductor coils- labelled 10S-LP01 B. Though it could equally be from the large voltage regulator under the adjacent heatsink..

Those coils are in the PFC circut, they could make a squealing noise if the coils are a bit loose. I would not be too concerned.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
            by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

            by asr
Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

            Hello guys!
I have a strange issue with my laptop keyboard and I'm lost trying to detect what's wrong - the KB9028Q-C or the keyboard itself.
It powers on OK and has no other issues except the following:
            • CAPS LOCK does not work at all
            • Fn button toggles Flight Mode
            • When I press 't' or '5', it produces 't5', and when I press 'y' or '6', it produces 'y6'
            • (with SHIFT pressed: 't%' and 'y^' respectively)
I initially thought it was a keyboard malfunction (internal short, etc.),
but when I press and hold...

Alienware 15 R2 Service Tag: DL7NN32 ISSUE (Battery is not charging)
            by Simone Vergani
            Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.

To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:
