    Sharp LC-40LE830U Backlight Problem

    Hey, all.

This TV is giving the 1 fast/1 slow flash code indicating a lamp error. So, I tore it down and tested all 4 of the LED strips and all of the LEDs light up fine. I see no dead, or dim LEDs compared to the rest. What else could be going on here?

A little back story...at one time I was able to reset the lamp error count and got the TV to turn on. I don't exactly recall what I did to do so, but I wasn't ready to tear into it at the time so I put it away in the junk/projects room and forgot about it. Fast forward about a year+ later, I had another TV(15 year old Panasonic Plasma that I've owned since new) die on me, and I doubt I'll bother trying to fix it being it's only 720p. So, I remembered about this Sharp and pulled it out. This time, trying the reset procedures I could find online and in the service manual(which is terrible), I could not get it to turn on. Not sure if something else has failed, or if I didn't do it right, or if this and the fact that the LED strips seem to be fine are pointing to another problem.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Unplug the television.
Press and hold the "Channel Down" and "Input" buttons on the panel.
Plug the television back in while holding down these buttons. ...
Keep holding the buttons until the television powers back on. ...

This one may apply: While holding down the "VOL (-)" and "CH (up)
while plugging in til tv comes on, something like that.

          So, yeah, I was doing it wrong. The correct reset steps are;

Hold Vol- and Ch+, and while holding those, press the Power button.

The TV turned on and I've been watching it for the past few hours. I see no issues with it, but if I pull power and then plug it back in again, I have to reset it again. Simply turning the TV off and on with the power button, it's fine.

So, what are everyone's thoughts as to why it's coming up with a lamp error?

The error code needs to be cleared in service mode

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.
              by Kingfreddie
              Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:

Hi. I have a problem with Asus ROG GA402RK. The keyboard suddenly stopped working along with the kb backlight. I replaced the keyboard and the ITE KBC chip and the problem is still the same. I don't see any passive elements that look damaged. Does anyone have an idea?

              hello everyone!
As the title states i am an owner of an LG flatron M2362DP 23 inch monitor Tv. Since i currently use it as a tv i'm posting the problem on the "troubleshooting tvs and video sources" section.
I'm from Greece so English isn't my native language, so please forgive me for any mistakes i make. I have basic knowledge in electronics, and although i have a degree, many things have changed since i finished a 2 year coarse (over 30 years ago). Occasionally i repair easy stuff, mostly things that break at home like appliances.

hello I have a backlight problem on this TV, if I unplug the cn201 cable the backlight works perfectly and the voltages are 13v if I connect the cn201 cable the backlight goes off and the voltage drops to 12v, I assume it's a motherboard problem, the question is has anyone had a similar problem? I want to understand if the motherboard is repairable or it's not worth wasting time...

              Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

              > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
              > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...
