Any help is appreciated, I have a digital multimeter, a Soldering gun, etc, SO my resources are limited, but I have a couple things... HELP PLEASE !!!!
Hopefully you have a soldering iron and not a soldering gun! A gun is too powerful for these applications. Anyway, start troubleshooting off with pictures of the top/bottom of each board along with a detailed description of the problem. If you have the same problem as the OP, then follow what they have done to resolve their issue.

Wait, you've already posted in the monitors section. You've been given direction to test U310 because there's a hole in the top of it.

Cross-posting between subforums and talking in caps isn't likely to get you any additional help.

I repaired two of these monitors by replacing all of those caps, not all of them looked bad, but they were identified as bad caps. I would recommend to replace them all, you don't have anything to lose.

Hello. I have a problem with this same monitor. Unlike the OP's problem, my unit powers on.
The problem is that the unit has a buzz in the power supply and the screen has a 1/2 inch staticy looking line tracing horizontally goin down the middle of the screen. I popped the unit open, and on the power supply it appears the noise is coming from the yellow transformer, but the 4-layered inductor (The one in the bottom right near the power input cable) has melted fins on it.

Caps are good, and the circuits are good, just that sound. Im tryin to find out the type of transformer and inductor (style) so i can order new ones and put them in. Im really new at this kind of stuff.

Im trying to post pics but my wife misplaced the camera. If more specifics are needed, let me know. ill try to pics tho.

          thank you

Re: Bad Power Supply on SCEPTRE X22WG-1080P

After 50 yrs in the electronics business and 20 yrs of running my own electronics service shop, I know all-to-well about bad capacitors! I am fully retired and don't even have a bench setup anymore, but when my Sceptre 22" monitor went down I had to investigate. I really like this monitor and don't want to throw it away!
I did a lot of searching to no avail and finally landed on this forum which set me straight on Sceptres 'badcap' problem. I really appreciate the detailed info I found here and just wanted to add my thanks to all. Finding schematics and/or real service info is practically impossible and so I know I'm not the only tech that's done without the info for decades. Reading thru this forum confirmed my suspicions about the 'roundtop' caps in this unit and I feel pretty sure that replacement is going to revive my beloved monitor.
Thanks again fellas and I hope I can help someone out sometime with their electronic nightmare!

              Hi fellas,
Just a follow-up to my original post... I replaced the bad caps on my monitor and am using it as we speak! I have some other items in my bone pile that I suspect are along the same lines and will get back w/ specifics. I have a feeling my problems are not special or isolated!
Thanks again for this great resource... teeb
