Hi fellas,
Just a follow-up to my original post... I replaced the bad caps on my monitor and am using it as we speak! I have some other items in my bone pile that I suspect are along the same lines and will get back w/ specifics. I have a feeling my problems are not special or isolated!

After 50 yrs in the electronics business and 20 yrs of running my own electronics service shop, I know all-to-well about bad capacitors! I am fully retired and don't even have a bench setup anymore, but when my Sceptre 22" monitor went down I had to investigate. I really like this monitor and don't want to throw it away!
I did a lot of searching to no avail and finally landed on this forum which set me straight on Sceptres 'badcap' problem. I really appreciate the detailed info I found here and just wanted to add my thanks...
