    Samsung Plasma TV Vertical Lines

    Hi. I was given a Samsung PN51F5300AFXZA 51" plasma TV. I took it with the intention of fixing it as a gift for my mom. It turns on and will stay on for an indefinite amount of time without issues. There are, however, several thin vertical lines on the left side of the panel. I tried searching here and several other forums and have not had any luck. The lines aren't static, but they don't change position. Each one is a pixel wide and they are multiple colors. Usually people seem to have bars, solid lines, or vertical lines covering the entire width. I know Samsung models commonly have panel defects. I removed the rear cover and tried applying pressure on all the flex/ribbon cables where they are adhered to the panel. This did not seem to have any effect on the lines. This is where the point of failure usually is, isn't it? Could this bottom (non-replaceable) board be bad, or should I be looking elsewhere?       unclip the lower buffer connections .but do not remove the ribbon cable .do this twice on each clip and see it it fixes your issue , have done this in the past and it fixes vertical lines

          Make sure the tv is unplugged first!

              Hi rofflesaur, I have this exact same issue on a Samsung pn51e550d1f Plasma I just purchased for $20.

              I have cleaned all ribbon cable connections with %100 IPA and tried gently applying pressure on each of the bottom board permanently attached flat ribbon cables to no avail.

              I will now attempt chrismurphy's repair (with set unplugged, thanks tvtimmy :P)

                  Unfortunately, chrismurphy's repair was unsuccessful. Power supply wouldn't even power up most of the time. I'm just curious if this is the fault of the IC components hidden under the glued flat ribbon cables on the bottom boards, or if it is a faulty control board.

                      This is my 2nd broken TV I'm trying to fix and haven't been able to figure out... currently going without any working TVs so am hoping to be able to fix one..

                      This Samsung PN50B430P2D Plasma has this big block of vertical lines which will fade in shortly after turning the TV on. The lines will sometimes flicker a bit or fade in/out and sometimes it just stays present. The length of time it takes them to appear varies, sometimes its a few minutes and other times it appears immediately after powering on.

                      I have attached an image of the TV with these bars displaying....

                      Friend of mine has a Samsung Plasma panel with some vertical lines that are starting to form on the screen.....Ive never worked on a plasma panel, so Im not sure what to look for, would this typically be a main board issue, or something else?

                      Any help would be appreciated.....Please let me know.......

                      Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                      I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

                      The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

                      I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...
