I'm working on a Samsung 51" plasma. The tv powers up fine, screen is good. I can navigate the menu. Its self diagnostics find nothing. However the HDMI ports are not working. When I plug something in, the menu lights up the correct port as if its detecting some signal, but no audio or video come through. I'm assuming main/logic board issues? Is there something I can test, or do I simply need a new board? Any input would be great, Thanks!

I would first test the connections between the hdmi plug and the board, a few poor solder connections can result in the port being detected but you will have no video or audio. Use a needle to see if any of the pins are loose. I just repaird a different samsung main baord and both hdmi's had poor connections.Last edited by R_J; 08-12-2019, 05:48 PM. -

bad hdmi cable can do the same. Actually a new main board is surprisingly cheap for this TV.Comment

I checked the hdmi connections...all good, and its a brand new cable, plus I have tried different cables all with the same results. Where is a good source for a replacement board?

Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.
However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.
The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.

Hello. Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA here with both HDMI ports non-working. I have already verified multiple sources and multiple cables to ensure it isn't something simple like that as well as resets and software updates.
I took the mainboard out and gave it a look. Nothing looks bad or burned. All of the HDMI pins are nice, none are broken at their pads either.
Following the traces, it looks like both HDMI ports trace back to the main CPU which does seem to get hotter than I think it should despite it's (rather poor) heatsink.
