Re: Samsung pn51f5300af no HDMI
Curious to know where I can get this board cheaply? Everywhere I have looked, the seem to be expensive? Maybe my idea of cheap is wrong.
Thanks!

Re: Samsung pn51f5300af no HDMI
I checked the hdmi connections...all good, and its a brand new cable, plus I have tried different cables all with the same results. Where is a good source for a replacement board?
Thanks!

Samsung pn51f5300af no HDMI
I'm working on a Samsung 51" plasma. The tv powers up fine, screen is good. I can navigate the menu. Its self diagnostics find nothing. However the HDMI ports are not working. When I plug something in, the menu lights up the correct port as if its detecting some signal, but no audio or video come through. I'm assuming main/logic board issues? Is there something I can test, or do I simply need a new board? Any input would be great, Thanks!

Lg 42ln5300 tv won't turn on. Power supply might be ok?
Hello all, I'm working on a lg 43" LCD. When it's plugged in , the red light fades in and out twice an then stays off. When the power button is pressed, the red light stays on. When pressed again, red light goes out and backlight seems to flicker a bit, but never comes on. I have checked the voltages on the power supply, 3.25 at per on, 3.45 at pdim, 3.45 at n.c. 23.3v at the 24v pin, 12.03 at the 12v pins. The voltage to the LEDs jumps around between 60 and 75 volts, which is where I think the problem is. What should I look for next? I have tested all the smaller caps, and the seem to be...

Re: Samsung 50" Plasma relay clicks, nothing else
So I think I found the culprit. a RJP30E2 transistor. Shorted in every direction. I was told that this would be a replacement:

Higher wattage, voltage, and current rating. I also found a small burnt trace and an assuming that it happened because of the shorted part. Should I check anything else out or hope that this is it?Re: Samsung 50" Plasma relay clicks,...nk I found the

Re: Samsung 50" Plasma relay clicks, nothing else
Ok...so I've done a few tests. First to clarify, when first powered on, there are 2 back to back clicks, short pause then the third click. It will repeat that every time the power button is clicked. It happens fairly quick, so hard to get an accurate reading. Next I disconnected the cable going from the main power supply to the second board in my pics. Is that the Xsys or Ysus board? anyway, with that disconnected, I tested VA and VS on the main power supply. They momentarily read their specified voltages and then drop off....

Re: Samsung 50" Plasma relay clicks, nothing else
Sorry I should have clarified, I have taken the back off, all caps appear fine. It seems like from what I have found, there are usually two culprits, bad buffer boards, and power supply/bad caps. I was mostly wondering if people here were familiar enough with these to say which was more likely. If bad buffers are a strong possibility, I thought I would save everybody some time because I don't have the facilities to fix that. Bad caps are no problem for me to fix. I'll be doing some VA and VS checks shortly....

Samsung 50" Plasma relay clicks, nothing else
I have a Samsung pn50c540g3f 50" plasma. When plugged in, the red power light comes on. when touched, the tv clicks a few times, and goes back to the red light. Screen does not come on. I looked around on the net a bit and it looks like it could be bad caps, or the buffer board. Just wondering if anybody here is familiar with this, and where I should start. Thanks!

RCA L42FHD37YX8 Poer button not working
I have a RCA L42FHD37YX8 that I have been working on. It is now to the point where if it is plugged in, it turns on right away. All the buttons work, and I can turn it off with the power button, but not back on. When using a remote, the green led flashes on the tv, but it will not turn on. Again if I unplug it, plug it back in, the remote will turn the tv off, but not back on. There is a reset button on the main board that if pressed will turn the tv on. Any ideas what I should look for? Thanks!Last edited by Snype32; 11-07-2013, 05:09 PM.

Re: RCA L42FHD37YX8 Will not power on
Anybody? The tv powers on when plugged in, and I can turn it off with the power button, just not back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: RCA L42FHD37YX8 Will not power on
Well I found a couple interesting things... As I was looking further into the mainboard, I found that the tv would start when I removed the extra inputs...the ones on the side of the tv. I took them apart and found major damage. I'm guessing lightning strike. So I put the tv back together without it and now I can get it to power up, but only using the button on the mainboard. The regular power button will turn the tv off, but not on. Any ideas?

So is there any point in troubleshooting the mainboard? Or is it too difficult?

Re: RCA L42FHD37YX8 Will not power on
OK so I did a little experimenting... When I plugged everything back in as it's supposed to be, the 24 volts was back as was the 12v. BL_ON was not getting 5v, so I jumpered from the 5v source to the BL_on and sure enough, on it came. No menu or anything, just the backlight. So are we now looking at the main board?

Re: RCA L42FHD37YX8 Will not power on
So I found out that depending where I put the resistor, I can get 5v on either dim or BL_ON on the cable going to the inverter. However I no longer have the 24v on the 5 reds so there must be something else that turns that on. There was a pin labeled pw...would it need the 5 volts as well? Thanks for your patience in this.
