    Fta Tuner?

Hi guys anybody here understand FTA tuners,my deal is i have a Fta SAT receiver and when i made connections by mistake, connected a tv to the IF loop out thinking that would be for a tv but then i started to smell some electronic burning smell, the receiver continue to work as nothing happened but later i got a 8psk card for HD but i could never see any HD channels although i can see the TPs, SD are all good and the HD from the ATSC also work good, i suspect either the card or the tuner loop out, the tuner is bellow.

    Re: Fta Tuner?

If you mean you connected the port on the box that is supposed to go to the LNB on the roof to the TV.

You are screwed from my understanding power is fed from the box through the coax to power the LNB. You injected power right into your TVs tuner.

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Why you say that, the receiver is still working good on QPSK ,i have 18vout of the loop,i can get HD but not through the 8PSK.

Yet another Samsung QLED Boot Loop
          by Takeatry
Samsung QLED QN50Q — purchased 2022 started experiencing a delay in the picture coming on in the morning less than 2 years later. Did not know the term boot loop at that time. As the loop delay ran into a few minutes did all the recommended troubleshooting, soft and hard reset, changing cables and outlet locations, no help. As the delay increased contacted Samsung tech group and allow them remote access the tv. Tech was moving too fast to see exactly what he was doing but this ultimately it was also no help. Lived with the delay until it stretched out over 6 hours. Pulled of off the back cover...

          Samsung PN51F8500AFXZA broke off the tuner's F connector, can't get tuner de-soldered
          by DXseekerMO
I can hear Fred Sanford now...."YOU BIG DUMMY".....I pulled the "F" connector out of the tuner by accident. The tuner number is BN40-00248B. Low and behold I had a scrap board with tuner number BN40-00248A. Although the tuner is different (according to Encompass.com) it's footprint on the board is exactly the same as the 248B so I decided to de-solder the tuner off the scrap board to see what I was getting in to.

As you can see in the picture the terminals and solder pads are super small. No matter what I tried I could not get either the terminals or support...

Running out of Ideas, hoping someone smart can provide some for my ONKYO TX-SR353 Receiver
          by CDNBrewer
          Hello Everyone,

I have an Onkyo TX-SR353 Audio/Video Receiver (5.1 ch with HDMI) that I am having a really hard time diagnosing and I'm about to throw this in the junk and go buy a new unit that is on sale until the 7th.

          Symptoms:
          • Intermittent (part of the reason why i'm having a hard time isolating problem), sometimes will work for 10+h at a time without issue
          • Original symptom was wife reported loud banging noise (like someone was banging on the wall with their fists) from the LEFT SURROUND speaker and then the unit shut off.
          • I swapped the Left and Right surround
          ...

Samsung UE49MU6105K - boot loop, horizontal lines
          by blaster_
Less than a year out of warranty, samsung UE49MU6105K craps out, they've got this designed obsolescence down to an exact science of self destruct when out of warranty...

Screen started to show horizontal lines and ghosted image at the bottom, then turned off by itself. Did software update, to no avail of the line problem, and got a boot loop after some minutes of watching TV. This boot loop will turn on the backlights for some seconds the sound comes on, the image will turn dark very fast and then it reboots again. Pressing power button will not put it on standby. Disconnecting...
