I guess the question would be... forgetting plugging in the usb.... what happens when you power up the set and attempt to turn it on with the "new board"? I would suspect that if you don't get some "form" of display, then you have more problems than firmware.

I guess with your experience in this post, you should be able to quickly check the voltage to see if anything has changed from the "old board" situation.

Sony EX series 5 Time red LED flash cause by shorted components on T-CON or the Panel Taps. use your DM on Diode peep ton mode black to chassis and with red line check all C which had short and follow it line.

Ok I checked the LVDS cable at the main board and it was misaligned. Re-installed it and plugged the TV in. Immediately the red standby light was on and the amber light was flashing. I inserted the thumb drive and it looked like the update was taking. Eventually the amber light turned off and the stand-by light was flashing 10 blinks.

So....what is the good news? Did I brick the turd?

so confirm again that you have now 10 flash error ?

            Yes, 10 flash error confirmed.

Board came from a reliable supplier/refurbisher.

Plug TV in, stand-by light on solid.

Turn TV on, green light comes on, backlights flash but no picture (screen does not white flash anymore but no OSD).

Stand-by light starts blinking 10 times and repeats

Don't see a button on the remote labeled "channel" other than the channel up/down button. Am I missing something?

After pressing the buttons in the order specified the TV turns on, the Sony logo comes on screen, the TV appears to turn off and we're back to the 10-blink code.

at least this first time you see Sony logo on screen..or..?
Try again to plug it out from wall socket for 5 minutes or more then repeat this.. diagnostics mode

it may this error was registered on MB before it came to you... however we need now to clear all error code on it

The screen was facing down after re-setting the LVDS. Before entering diagnostics mode I put the TV back on the stand with the back off and this is when I saw the Sony logo.

I am letting it sit for 5min then I will re-try

do it again.. by plug it out from wall socket. this time reset all cable socket on the Set. check the LVDS side which was not correct seating. if any of silver pin was broken or moved to side or get short

after this time when you do it, don't inter diagnostic mode... inter from STB state to service menu... with RC Display , 5, volume up , power

I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...

                                            Hello everyone,
i am trying to repair a Sony KDL-55HX820 led TV which is throwing error code 4 (standby led flashing four times).

I followed the troubleshooting flowchart at page 69, and between pin1 and pin7 of CN6002 i am reading 1.91V so i guess i can rule out the B Board as the culprit.
Before ordering new G* Boards (by the way, should i change both? it is not specified in the manual) i wanted to try and do more advanced troubleshooting since i've read in other threads people resolving their problems on the 46/55 HX 820/823/825 models by replacing the Samsung led...

Hi everyone, i am a newbie here and i hope i will find the help i need. I have the above mentioned receiver with standby transformer's primary coil damaged. I have searched the net without success to find any tech data about this transformer. I have only the Sony part number1-437-313-11 and TAM Malaysia M0126. I guess i could find replacement for it, but i need to know the secondary coil voltages and VA. It is 220v on the primary. It has 5 pins on the secondary, the outer two are not used and i have 6.5 ohms between pins 2and 4, 3,9 ohms between 2 and 3, and 3,6 ohms between 3 and 4. Can someone...

                                            Hey All,

                                            I have a Sony 65x900f that I purchased cheap because of a no-power issue.
I assumed that because there is no standby light visible, it would be an easy fix - however upon opening up of the unit I can confirm that the 3v3 standby voltage is making it's way from the power supply to the main board. I'm a little confused as to why there is no standby light.

I am firstly wondering if anyone has this model of TV, or has worked on one and can give me some insight. I have tried to find a service manual for this model, to no avail - and would really appreciate...
