What number diode did you use to replace DM861?
Check that QM861 is not shorted

Also what is the voltage measured at the cathode of DM861

    Hi R_J!

Do you know the ref. of the QM861, i have the same problem, but my QM is shorted.

I have ordered the resistor and will update you when I have tested the circuit. Many thanks for all your help.

Must be typo, yes, it should be 10 Ohms so it will draw 0.50A from 5V supply.

Ok I will have to dig around for a 3 to 5w resistor. I thought that 5/0.5 was 10 Ohms though. Or am I missing something.

How do I go about adding a 500ma load?

OK, you can: unsolder again DM861 cathode and connect a load of about 0,5-1A to the A5V, retest A5V, with and whitout load..

Hi. Yes I took the reading from A5V. It is bouncing around at 2.4 to 2.7v

    I got a reading of 2.4 to 2.7 volts.
Do you think it has anything to do with the shunt regulator icm861 (top right on board TO-92 package) which is a kia431a?

And how would I test it?

That is strange reading of 295 Ohms.
Can you un-solder the Source pin of switched 12V MOSFET (QM861) to see if 5V will be stable?
It drives me crazy too since it is just simple always on power supply board.

Hi budm and thank you for your help again. The readings across the diode DM861 is erratic. I get 295 ohm with negative on the cathode and from 3meg dropping to 7k then back up when positive is on the cathode. This board is driving me crazy.

Right now that 12V power supply section is not making any sense, the resistance of the first filter cap at the Cathode of DM861 is 30K so that should not load down the 12V output , and since the switched MOSFET (QM861) for the switched 12V should not be on unless PS-ON is present and the resistance of the filter cap CM867 is 7K2 Ohms so that is not problem either.
What resistance do you get reading between the two leg of DM861 when it is soldered back into the board?

Resistance across cm867 is 7.2k, but across cm864 it starts at 3meg and eventually drops down to about 30k before going back up again.

Those zeners are likely ok, if the A5V standby is working with DM861 removed, then I suspect there is something loading the circuit After the DM861.
What is the resistance measured across CM864 and CM867?

    have you checked RM803, DM802, ZDM803 & ZDM802? Also check JP831 0Ω near the cnm803 plug
So checked the voltage with diode removed and it is stable at 5.22v.
0 ohm across the resistor jp831
all components seemed to check out ok. I assume ZDM803 and 802 are a zener diode?
Thank you for taking the time with this.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
    by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
    by ChristianBr01
    Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...
