    Vertical lines in Samsung UE40F7000SL

    Hi there!
A friend's TV set has started to show some vertical lines .
Im attaching 2 pictures of it. Sorry they were taking thru the display glass, he has it in his store and couldn't get anything better at that time.
The photos show horizontal lines but the TV set was sidewise 90º (portrait), so they are actually vertical lines.
As you can see there's a bunch of lines all together, and them some others farther, scattered...
My 1st guess is a cold solder in the T-con board
My second guess is some faulty/loose flex ribbon cables between driver board and LCD.

Does this issue look familiar to anyone? He just wants to know if this is fixable at a decent budget

    Thanks!

The FFCs from the T-CON Bd to the Driver/Panel Bds could be defective. Remove them and give them a good cleaning, be careful not to damage the little gold fingers you would be cleaning. Inspect the FFCs to verify they are in good repair. Ensure they are properly seated. The inspect the FPCs that go from the Driver/Panel Bds to the Panel to verify they are in good repair. Press the FPCs where they are glued to the Panel while the TV is on to see if the problem clears. If nothing works they you do have a bad Panel.

Ok I will check that, he said that after he disassembled the TV to give it a quick visual check, it got worse, so maybe he touched or moved wires around the T-con board / LCD.
      I will keep you posted
      Thanks

No, the image is fine, he has the TV in portrait mode and the PPT is designed for portrait mode. He uses it in his store´s display

            Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
            by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
            by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
            by polaro
            Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...

Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 - Pink vertical lines due to chipped LCD panel?
            by Anonmis
Hello all, I was recently repairing my Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 tv from the common burnt backlight LED's and cracked light guide panel issue. After replacing the LED's and putting the TV back together, I tested the tv and all I was getting was sound but no image. Somewhere along the way (could be related to the next issue) the T-Con board became damaged and after replacing it I have made a little bit of progress but now have bright pink vertical lines and still no image.

The bigger issue .... I took the TV apart again and realized that I likely didn't sit the LCD panel correctly...
