DVD player (JVC XV-F80) repair or replacement part needed

I'm working on this DVD player (JVC XV-F80) that was not working due to a DVD inserted incorrectly. When I opened it up the DVD was completely shattered with pieces everywhere. I managed to clean it out and everything was working but it wasn't able to play DVDs very well; it will slow down and pause sometimes. As at now, the DVDs wont play at all - I get a "No Disc" error when I insert a DVD. I tried several known good DVDs, same result. It works perfectly with audio CDs.

My guess is the pick-up lens (part # LEA10024-01) is bad and need to be replaced. However I couldn't find any online. Any help at all will do. Thanks in advance.

This JVC parts supplier may have what you are looking for. The description appears appropriate, but the part numbers don't match.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Thanks for the link. Looks like that will work.
Before I consider buying it though I want to be sure the problem is the pick-up lens. Could the problem be from any other source?

        >>Could the problem be from any other source?<<

Absolutely it could. If its playing CD's (you do mean VCD's, correct?) but not DVD's, I doubt very much the problem is a broken optical pickup. (@ $75 a pop)

It may be that the pieces hit the pickup and knocked it out of alignment. If that's the case, you will likely need to send/take it to a repair facility that has the equipment to realign it.

What in blazes caused a DVD to shatter INSIDE the player??? They're difficult enough to break OUTSIDE, so what happened in there? These mechanisms are ~usually~ set up to detect a jam and go into reverse to remove the problem. The force required to break a DVD probably broke or severely damaged some part of the drive mechanism.

I would be looking for a damaged drive wheel, broken gear(ing), bad motor, bent or broken "something".

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
          by the_rem
          Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

          Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

Led TV Board Replacement, same part number and model, different size
          by Cvrado
          Hello my friends!
I have a question that I think you can answer and help me with!

I have a faulty main board from an led TV. And I found the same part number board and design but is from a 43" TV and I want to use it on a 65". On its stickers , all are the same except the wattage for the LEDs backlight, both state different watts and LED Voltages!

So I presume that the backlight inverter section from the replacement board has lower wattage then the original one, am I right?

My concern is that the board won't draw enough voltage to the bac...
