RCA RLED4250A IR Remote Not Working

This TV initially wouldn't turn on and found out the side button board was misaligned and the IR isn't working as well. TV turns on now with the side buttons but no response to the remote. I probed the IR receiver module and it is getting 5V and the output dips when it receives IR signals. No oscilloscope to confirm for sure. I was able to get an old Citizen TV to respond by doing a reset in the service menu.

Can't get into the service menu of this TV. Tried several online suggestions including holding down menu button and pressing power and volume +. On another RCA I currently have with the same menus I can get into the service menu using remote code 1-1-4-7. Don't have the original remote but assuming a LG remote should work with this TV since it works with the other RCA.

is it correct remote ? turn tv on then see what various buttons do if anything .. then get correct remote .

I don't have the original remote but the menu system is the same as another RCA I have which works with the LG remote. I do have some universal remotes coming in next week I can try with it as well.

best start with correct remote then move on .

If you can get in the service menu with 1147(common for chinese chassis) then a lg remote wont work

I tried all the RCA tv codes with my xfinity dvr remote and none worked Not willing to pay for an original remote if the tv needs a factory reset.

Got a universal TV139F remote and using search all model feature, got most of the remote functions to work. Just OK key doesn't map so bit painful to switch inputs.
