    Samsung LN-T4061F All Inputs Pixelated

    Hello Everyone,

New to the forum here and I was just looking to get some input on a TV i got from a friend that I wanted to attempted to fix. As the title states is a samsung ln-t4061f and all of the inputs have no clarity and are completely pixelated. I have attached a photo of how it looks on a TV receiver and can also provide shots with other devices as well.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this before as I was seeing things about Tcon boards and how these TVs are also known for the Samsung capacitor issues back in 2006 - 2009. I have yet to open it up but just thought I'd ask here first before I go and start taking it apart likely tomorrow (Monday).

Thank you to any and all who read this and respond.

My initial thoughts would also be Tcon.
Doing a quick search on the forum does appear to show this set as being quite problematic.

I'd also think it is the tcon.

Can you post a few good clear pics of the inside of the TV?

          Hello everyone,

Thank you for the quick replies and yes I will get some clear pics of the inside once I open it up I just wont be able to get to it until tomorrow.

Unfortunately during my searches I wasnt able to find anything that showed this same level of distortion or picture.

If it is a tconn board do any of you have recommendations for where to get one?

            Hello again,

I have pulled the back of the unit and there doesnt seem to be any capacitor issues that I can see visually. The Tconn board at the top though does have a different smell than the other components which makes me think something may have fizzled out to cause the problem I am having.

Here are the pics of the mainboards and the Tcon. Let me know if you want pics or information about anything else.

            Thanks

Re: Samsung LN-T4061F All Inputs Pixelated (Updated 5-3-18)

              Hello Again,

I went ahead and ordered a new TCON board and have since installed it and it would still seem I have the same issue although now there appears to be a black line through the screen as shown in the attached picture.

The exact same picture discoloration appears with this board as well as the old one so I am not sure if anyone else has any other thoughts on this. I will not be heavily investing in it at all I just wanted to get some other ideas and perhaps close this out.

              Thank you

What is the number on the white sticker on your mainboard? it will start with bn94.

                    Hi nomo,

Thank you for replying. I can get the menu as shown in the picture below antd he board model is bn97-01835a.

This is the board that all my inputs are connecting to. I presume this is the one you wanted correct?

press a bit on the main IC (yours has a heat sink) on the main board and see if there is a change. You also can try to clean the LVDS ribbon cable and heat up the main board with a hair drier and see if there are any changes.

Did you try a factory reset? try this: With the TV on, press and hold EXIT on the TV remote for 10 seconds, should bring up the reset option on screen.

                            Hi guys

I haven't tried those things yet but I will try tomorrow. As for the board here is a picture of it you can see the white sticker on it. It states the number that I provided.

Also friend never gave me the remote so I will have to try it with a universal one that I have. Hopefully it works.

There's a new tcon (well used) in there from a verified eBay source and it didn't change the screen image. It's why I'm inquirers about other things like the main board now.

Yea thank you I saw that and I did verify the board number with the one you posted and they do match. I was looking at a different sticker on the mainboard.
