Making a Samsung service remote. Possible ?

Good day folks. Having messed around with TVs for quite some time now, one thing I always thought would be handy to have is a service remote......or ANY universal remote for that matter, so I wouldn't have to keep a drawer full of different remotes for Vestels/LGs/Sammies, etc....has anyone got any ideas or good resources/codes for "building" remotes that run off the PC or a phone ?

Mind you, my phone doesn't have an IR blaster, so I can't go down that route. I imagine something like an Arduino or some other board to interface with an (or several) IR LEDs and the PC sending various commands to the Arduino in turn. I came across something fairly close here. Towards the bottom there's a program which appears to do just that...it's in German sadly, so I didn't dig too deep for now TBH. I just wanna see what the clever people out there have to say about it first Has anyone had any success building an universal remote of this kind, (preferably with service codes and all) ? Cheers.

There were several different ways at the bottom of the sammygo page mentioned in your other thread.

There are cheap programable remote and in database can find LG service and Samsung service.
But for Samsung remember I learned 3speed command via audio emulator.

I read about the audio jack trick, but it seemed kinda goofy and stupid, so perhaps I tried being more professional than I ought to Good for a one-time use I suppose...I'm sure there are a lot of resources out there for making remotes, trouble is obtaining the codes for the service remotes.

THIS comes close to what I'm trying to achieve.....don't have an ethernet-enabled arduino though :|

Yeah, it was there the whole time, but it's much easier to read stuff at your own pace when you're at home as opposed to work

There's something that caught my attention though: on the page describing which codes need to be sent, it says the service and 3speed codes have been removed, which is exactly what I needed, since emulating a regular remote is pretty pointless since I already have 2 of them around...don't know what to make of that :|

Is cheap to buy one remote and USB programmer from local country, search at mivarom.
Then go to http://www.clurc.net/ download software, register one account to be able to use internet database.
Already say that LG service exist in database and is OK.For Samsung also but maybe missing 3speed command, anyway is easy to add.
Also USB programmer act as remote and sensor too,can be used in case no remote found for some device, set which command to send and check when device react and save code or learn code via another remote (as I say I used to save 3speed command emulated with audio output) or write code sequence if is known.

Samsung UN70RU7100K halfway bricked after messing with service menu
              by Daniel Valdez
              Dear All,

FAFO is the correct definition of what happened with my Samsung UN70RU7100K TV, I was trying to change the region to enable samsung plus using the service mode, entered the mode mute 1 8 2 pwr, and started to dig in. Did some changes while having digital TV signal in the back instead of doing it in HDMI standby mode, I remember changing to a region different then mine but also had a different tuner $%&!. After rebooting the TV, it was all gone, now it shows the splash image and then no image at all. If i disconnect the lan cable from the back, a message is shown in the...
