TV Red LED Flashed (No Startup)

    Hi Guys,

I am currently looking at a 32" Poloroid P32LED12 TV for a neighbour. He is a heavy smoker so please excuse the yellowing.

I have tested the outputs of the PSU and getting good readings although there is no legend on the power board.

I have noticed that when I remove the cable going to the main board The LEDs all light and stay stable. When I put the cable going to the main board back in, the led lights all go out and the red standby led flashes continuously.

The TV won't come on but the touch power button registers a beep.

Do you guys have any ideas? I have replaced the output diodes as some reading were quite low but this has not fixed my issue.

Sorry I meant to write the model number in the thread title. It's Poloroid P32LED12 and board pics attached. Thread title should read Red LED flashes continuously. Cheers

UPDATE: TV Red LED Flashed (No Startup)

Ok I was testing some voltages of the caps on the hot side and heared a funny static like sound or frequency sound.

I then tried to turn the TV on and it now starts up!! The red led flashed 11 times during start up and goes out when TV comes on.

Then when I press the power off button the TV goes off as expected and then the red led flashes again for 11 times and then goes the solid red to let you know it's in standby.

Now I may have been silly here. After replacing the shottkey diodes (D223, D224, D226, D229) I may not have pushed the correct power button as the tv is on screen side down on the workbench.

So I guess the diodes sorted it (Time will tell)

I also have checked against my working Poloroid TV in the bedroom and I can confirm it is normal for the Red LED to flash 11 times before coming on and off.

Thanks guys for all the help on this forum, I love it and look forward to fixing my next TV

On M-Audio AV40 active studio speaker's two zener diodes get really hot.
        by Dvsr
Hi. I need help from wiser guys. I am amateur in electronics and can't figure this out by myself.
I bought faulty speakers, M-Audio AV40's. Other speaker has all the electronics in it and the other speaker is just passive one powered by the other speaker's amp. Original problem with the speakers was loud buzzing. I figured out that there is something wrong with the capacitors. I went ahead and replaced every electrolytic capacitor on the PCB. The caps are good quality and have the same values as the original ones.
After replacing the caps I started testing out the speaker. It seemed...

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
        by caspian
        Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
        no schematics are available...

What should I do after having flashed a BIOS?
        by mkdj
        Dear all,

I did my first laptop repair related to a BIOS issue. Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T480, and was not booting. With my brand new programmer, I did a back-up of the current not working BIOS, erased the BIOS chip, and flashed this dump: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...83#post3686683

Now the laptop works fine, I can access BIOS and boot on a USB drive. But I read stuff about DMI, and...

Strange battery present behaviour in Lenovo Legion 5-15ARH05 mb model nm-d041
        by ferah831208
Hello guys, i need help with this problem, I have a NM-D041 mobo, it came with low impedance in 3v linear regulator rail, the cause was a damaged EC controller ITE8227e-192. I ordered a new one and replaced it. This laptop have a different chip for keyboard management and it8227e pins for programming ITE chips are not accesible through keyboard interface, I flashed it using i2c interface pins with vertyanov programmer because laptop was dead and SPI flash didn't have power (only 3v EC) so it couldn't access firmware stored in SPI memory. I read SPI and extracted it8227 firmware from original BIOS...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset
        by odie34
I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...
