Grundig VLE 9372, Panel damaged

Hello guys,
I am currently troubleshooting a 46" Grundig LCD TV.
A capacitor on the right thin Panel Board had a short. When I disconnected the right side of the T-Con, the right side showed white screen and the left side showed colored vertical lines.
With both cables connected the TV had not started.

Then I removed the bad capacitor, and now the TV shows colored vertical thin lines on the whole screen.

In the picture the TV is upside down. So the right side is actually the left side.

What do you think, is the panel damaged or T-Con? Is it worth to buy a new T-Con for testing?

if the capacitor was there and you removed it... maybe you need to replace it. IF it doesn't go bad again, you may get lucky and have a working set again.

Are all the other capacitors in series now reading open and high ohms? Relatively all the same Readings across all caps on the same capacitor spot now? Meaning if you were to check each capacitor location with the one that you removed on the other tabs do those all read the same in no more short?

Is repaired a Sony with an L GLC D panel in the same fashion. On the left side a capacitor was shorted which was dragging down every single capacitor in series On that side of the panel but that onr had a lower resistance reading so I knew that that was the bad one.

I went ahead and removed it but did not replace it with a another one because they are all paralell tied and the reading was now the same on both sides of the panel so I'm just going to see how long it will last.

Now I replaced it with one of an other board. I did not knew the exact value, but I think I am close.

Yes, it was the only one that was shorted. Before I removed it, the TV was not able to start. Then I removed the cable to this side of the panel, and the TV started. But then I hat colored lines on the working side.
Now, since I replaced the capacitor, I get the colored lines on the whole screen, but the TV starts.

So maybe the short has damaged the T-Con board, or the panel is defect. The voltage regulators on the T-Con seem to work properly.

Was your T-Con ok after you removed the shorted capacitor?

If the Tcon is not too expensive i would try it. It is weird to have just lines all over the panel with absolutely no picture like you do, without the panel being cracked, which yours does not seem to be.

Yes, I never had a TV with this symptoms before. If I disconnect both cables from panel to the T-Con the screen stays white.

Now I ordered a new T-Con. I hope this will solve the problem.
