    Panasonic TC-P65GT50 - Sparkling pixels

In the last couple of weeks, I've noticed occasional sparkling pixels around the top right edge of my TV when displaying certain static images. It is easier/quicker to trigger when the TV is cold, and behaves better when the TV has warmed up. It seems to be mostly green, with the occasional red sparkling pixel.

The original thing that triggered it, and can be used to trigger it very reliably is a particular screen from the Hulu app, and I've included a picture with that screen showing it. Generally when I change to another screen, it will go away quickly, possibly with some initial heavy sparkling. I can also trigger it with a solid blue or red slide using the built-in photo viewer.

There are a few screens that seem to let it continue for much longer once triggered, but don't necessarily trigger the issue. One of those screens is the one I've included with the dark screen. It seems when I come back to that screen after triggering it, sometimes there will even be green sparklies all over the right side of the screen, and along most of the very top edge of the picture. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of it showing that because my camera wasn't ready at the time and Amazon got rid of that ad from my Fire TV.

Thankfully, at this point, it doesn't seem to affect general viewing, but I'm worried it probably will at some point. I'm also not sure that I'm wanting to tackle this myself, and may call someone out to look at it, but I would like your opinion, as there seem to be a couple of plasma experts here.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice!

I would say loose screws on the SC board. Catch it now or it may become a problem. Inside the tv there are is a board to the left and the right of the tv. The screws get loose on the boards. In turn if left unchecked, blows components on these boards rendering your tv broken with a flashing red power light telling you of a diagnostic code. I would start there. Make sure all screws are tight.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Okay, that's certainly an easy thing to try. I will have to see if I can get a friend over here to help me get it off the mount and open it up. I'll followup once I can do that.

Would you recommend I place it on its stand to work on it vertically, or can I safely lay it face down to do that? I'm kind of worried about the screen breaking if I lay it face down to work on it.

      Thanks!

Working on the stand or face down, both are fine, do whatever is easiest for you. If working on a stand for a big TV I usually put a cushion in front of it and lean it against the sofa, it gives me some assurance if the TV were to be pushed too far.

I would also look at maybe a VSUS adjustment. It can be done from either the service menu or on the power board.

How would I do the VSUS adjustment? I'm assuming the voltage is supposed to be set to what's labeled on the panel?

On these Panasonic sets since the manufacturing between panels is so consistent, they don't bother marking VSUS. What I would do is use a multimeter to measure existing VSUS then drop it by 5V or 10V observing any image changes. 10V may be too far and cause the image to "pink out" (where white begins to tint pink) so you might have to find an in-between setting. Usually with very small amounts of sparkling pixels either VSUS or -VAD are the causes. VAD may be adjustable on the SC board but try VSUS first.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B tv , it powers up ok but the screen is blank, the backlights are working, there’s nothing else though, no picture or sound. I’m not sure what the fault is called whether it’s BLANK/ BLACK/ or WHITE SCREEN I’ve actually came across this before on a similar tv but just ended up scrapping it, I will upload pictures of the boards etc , if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
              by Alicat
              Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

              Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Panasonic 50VT65 Sparkling/misfiring pixels upper half of screen
              by skyvalley99
Recently my VT65 has started exhibiting sparking/misfiring pixels, it manifests as sparkling white pixels in the black area if there's brighter pixels in the same horizontal area (e.g. the smart viera boot screen, white credits on a black background).

On inspecting the screen closley you can see pixels misfiring in the upper area of the screen at all time, it just gets lost in normal content.

I've tried (without success) replacing the P/SS/SC board (refurbished boards) and re-calibrating the VSUS (including setting it to HIGH) but none has made a difference.
