    Samsung LN40D630 Lines - Bad Tcon?

    Got this TV thinking it had solid lines so a bad panel and would have to be scrapped. Bad tcon? Tab bonds? Lower 1/8 of screen is ok.

    Found this as well. Tape on Tcon ribbon cable fix https://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair...-vertical.html

      That is a bad panel and irreparable, I'm afraid....

          Thanks for saving me the money of not trying another tcon board. Quickly tried the tape fix but made it worse. Back to the original plan of salvaging the boards.

              Keep your board, it has a lot of value.

              For everyone to be aware, these TV very often will get lines across the screen, and most often they are due to a FAILED MAIN BOARD. However when the main board causes lines it will create lines universally across the entire picture. In the picture uploaded at the beginning of the threads you can see that the bottom portion of the picture is not affected by the lines. This is why we are able to say that the panel has failed.

                  Hi guys

                  I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
                  I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

                  never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
                  then it started to show the ghosting white image.
                  I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.

                  Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel

                  • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
                  • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
                  • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
                  • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
                  • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

                  Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
                  Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

                  I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
                  I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

                  I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

                  A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...
