Sanyo DP32D53 - No Power

At first it would turn on if I reseated the LED connector then stopped powering on all together. No response

170vdc at main cap
55vdc at led connector and never increases when attempting to power on.

Bl_on stays at 0v
12v measures 12v
3.3v measures 3.3v
K0/AD measures 3.3v = tied to power button goes to 0v when pressed
5v_M measures 5v
5v_STB measures 5v

Board isn’t labeled to well on the underside to help me probe for other voltages

What should I look for next?

Standby, tv never goes on

Well normally I would say you need to force power supply on and see if pfc is working. I don't know how to do the combo boards.

Which one would be the power supply? When I press power the signal goes from 3.3v to 0v. Wouldn't forcing it on be doing same thing?

Well main cap is 250v so 170vdc is good. You will need to test led connector to see what the max voltage is on each string when press power button.

It just stays at 55vdc when pressing power button. There’s no led on indicator on the front of the tv that illuminates either when pressing power

All voltages are there on the processor except the power on/off connected to. GPIO never changes from 0v

Would this be an eeprom issue? If so how do I go about trying to upgrading it? Where would I get the software?

Have you tried freezing the eeprom?, with tv unplugged, freeze eeprom, plug in tv & try to turn it on.

Just tried. Same symptoms

How do you determine if it’s an eeprom issue?

Kept trying to freeze the eeprom and the set finally turned on. It then froze up and wouldn’t power off

Kept trying to freeze again but nothing. Does that one time prove it’s an eeprom issue or should it work every single time you freeze it?

Most likely the eeprom. Sanyos eat eeprom and audio amps for breakfast.

Sometimes bridging the SDA w SCL works. Check soldering around eeprom. Also could just be faulty since freezing it makes it operate.

So I ordered a replacement eeprom from shopjimmy. Tv now powers on everytime, however there is now weird discoloration and the image is upside down. Could it be a bad replacement eeprom?

The eeprom is good However the eeprom is program to a different LCD panel than the one that you have.

Did you make sure that the full model number including the suffix and prefix were looked over when you ordered?

Model numbers is, but I just noticed the sticker on the board shows 02-SHY39B-CHS1 and the one I purchased is listed as 02-SHY39B-CHS0

Is there a setting that can flip it or I need to get the right eeprom?

Did you have a look in the service menu?, not sure how to get into it but on some sanyo's: unplug tv, hold vol (-) on tv and plug in tv, others its Press & hold MENU on tv and press `1' on remote
