Dark Bar across plasma?

My in-laws tv started doing this today (see attachment.) TV is a LG Plasma 50PA4500-UM.

Any ideas as to what board may have gone bad?

BTW, this forum helped me fix my 60" plasma several years ago and it is still working today. Thank you.

UPDATE** My sister-in-law told my wife she put it in power save mode and the problem went away. Still interested in anyone's thoughts. Thanks.

That's really odd. Can't think of a hardware fault so must have been a software setting or bug, maybe like the menu getting stuck on the screen?

Thanks, tom66. Yeah, I couldn't find anyone else having this particular problem when it came to plasmas.

The power-save mode must have reset whatever went wrong. I'll post back if it returns.

If it comes back Y board fault probably.
