    Sharp LC-32D62U Vertical Lines/No Picture

Hi all, been reading a lot of posts about similar problems to mine regarding error codes and get confused about how to count the light patterns.

My original problem can be seen in Pic1 & Pic2. I thought a T-Con problem at first but a replacement board produced the same results. Purchased a Main board off eBay and the problem went away, had a perfect picture (for a day). Powered on the next day and ran perfect for 15 minutes then went into error code after 3 power cycles. Error is OPC and Power blink once together then Power blinks another 2 times and then the whole blink sequence repeats itself.

I have the service manual for this model TV. Is the error a Power Failure (Power LED flashes twice and OPC LED flashes) or Communication failure (Power LED flashes three times and OPC LED flashes)? I suspect Power failure D_POW based on the voltage readings but in some posts all the Power LED flashes are counted and in others only the Power LED flashes after the OPC and Power flash together are counted.

I didn't take voltage readings until the replacement Main board started to fault. The voltage readings at startup at the respective connectors on the Main replacement board are:

    P9701 (PH)
    Pin 1: 5.9v 6V
    Pin 2: 0.0v GND
    Pin 3: 0.0v PNL 12V
    Pin 4: 0.0v PNL 12V
    Pin 5: 0.0v GND
    Pin 6: 0.0v GND
    Pin 7: 9.8v 10V
    Pin 8: 9.8v 10V
    Pin 9: 0.0v GND
    Pin 10: 0.0v GND
    Pin 11: 13.1v AMP 13V
    Pin 12: 13.1v AMP 13V

    P9702 (PD)
    Pin 1: 2.9v PS_ON
    Pin 2: 3.1v AC_DET
    Pin 3: 0.0v GND
    Pin 4: 0.0v PNL_POW
    Pin 5: 5.0v BU5V
    Pin 6: 0.0v GND

When I replaced the Main board with the original Main board the voltage readings were the same as above but P9701 Pin 3&4 were 11.8v each and P9702 Pin 4 was 3.3v which is why I have picture albeit with the vertical lines.

Pic 3: Board Layout (all original boards)
Pic 4: Main board purchased off eBay
Pic 5: Power supply board (original)

So, I have vertical lines in my picture with the original Main board and no picture with the replacement Main board. If anyone can point to further troubleshooting in either scenario it would be appreciated.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year!

Re: Sharp LC-32D62U Vertical Lines/No Picture

    Anyone?

My original problem - vertical lines in picture, most noticeable on light coloured images. Can it be traced to any specific component with some testing?

Replacing the Main board fixed the picture problem for a day but now it is causing the Power Supply to shut down all voltages through P9701 once it faults. I would like to understand how this all works if anyone cares to spend the time with me? Thanks.

I would say you got a faulty main board. Not sending out signal to turn on panel power.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
        by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

        Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
        by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

        Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
        by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture
        by srs
I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...
