Vestel 17Mb82S no picture (has sound and backlight)
Good day folks. I'd like some thoughts on this TV which has no picture, but has backlight and sound - quite the opposite of an LED failure. I read a few posts around here of others who are having this issue, some rather recent in fact, but I'm offering my own version just because my issue is slightly different.
There's no T-con board on this TV: LVDS cable plugs straight into the buffer board which also acts as the t-con. Fuse on this board is OK and all voltages are fine except for 2 of them: there's two test points which don't give any reading. One is AVDD_17V and the other is HVIN_12v HAVDD_8.5v.
Others were lucky enough to have a shorted SMD cap somewhere, but I wasn't so lucky, that's why I said my issue is slightly different. AVDD_17v corresponds to the pin I marked on the close-up of the RT6929 IC which I believe is faulty and the reason it's not firing up, even though it does generate its 1.2v and 3.3v correctly, though those may be handled by another IC further to the right, not showing up in the pictures.
Panel is a VES400UNDS
Couldn't find anything about this IC though...all I found was a datasheet for a MAX16929 and although it's still an LCD driver, the package doesn't match, so I can't really follow along with it, plus it may not be the same part altogether and send me on a goose chase.
