    Mitsubishi TV Model LT-55164

I have a Mitsubishi model number LT55164 television. About five weeks ago I was watching TV and I heard a little pop noise and I lost picture and sound right after that happened. I brought the TV to a local repair shop and they told me that it was the main board . The repair man ordered the main board installed it and tested it and he called me and told me that they sent him a defective board and he told me to come and pick up my TV after he put all the original parts back in it. He told me that he could not find the part anywhere else. How can I tell if the new part that they sent him was bad or could it be my power supply board that is bad in stead cause he told me it is definitely the main board when I mentioned that to him any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

If you post clear pictures of your circuit boards would be a good starting point.
Without any measurements it would be quess work at this point.

What tools do you have and know how to use them?
These look like to be your board:
          http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...lt/?q=LT-55164

There are pin labels on the bottom side of the power supply board.
You will need to do good visual inspection and then check the fuses if they are good or not, check Voltages at various connectors and at the main filter cap of the power supply board, etc.

Measure the voltages at the connectors and post your results.

With the TV plugged in.At PB I have 5 volts, at PC I have 5 volts as well and at PA some pins are 5 and some pins are around 55 volts. I used the metal plate that all the boards are bolted to as a ground. Let me know if I did it right and what the next step should be. I did notice when the tv is pluged in besides the blinking green light there is a steady Blinking red light as well that the pc wire From the power supply board goes to this Board And it is covered with a metal shield and it says high voltage on it

                    Next step?
Report the Voltage reading by including the pin name and follow by the Voltage reading:
                    Example:
                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1507281259

                    PA connector
                    Pin 1 dimming = xxx V
BTW: this statement" and at PA some pins are 5 and some pins are around 55 volts."
Which pin is that giving you 55V?

                      Re: Mitsubishi TV Model LT-55164

I recently checked all the capacitors, fuses etc and everything had voltage going to them. The problem ended up being the heat sinks on the main board. So I popped the top of the heat sink off and put flux around the edges of the heat sink that is soldered to the main board and heated it up with a heat gun for a couple of minutes and let cool as well for several minutes. Turned Tv on and it worked. So I reinstalled the top of the heat sinks and put alittle hot glue on the to hold them in place in case the fall off the main board and short it out. Then I installed a permanent fan in the tv that runs constant off the power board to keep the tv cool and so far so good

Hopefully you'll have plenty of viewing time but it does tend to be only a short duration fix.

It's something best left to the experts who have the tools and experience. I do not know what it would or could cost, however as I said your tv may work for days, weeks or many months so it was just to make you aware that it's rarely a permanent fix.

Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...

Hi, I have a Hitachi tv model L47V651, there is no image, but sound and backlights turn on, so I believe the issue is the tcon board.

I opened the tv to access the board and took the shared pictures of the T-Con board.

I saw a video from shopjimmy on how to detect the model number on tcon boards, but this doesn't have a sticker like how that video showed all boards.

I searched the P/N number and got results with the same marking name and P/N my board has but they list other specific tv models like Vizio and Philips brand but not Hitachi.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
