Good day folks. I'm pretty sure this TV's toast, but perhaps there's something I can try nonetheless: this Sammy turns on, displays good picture and all that jazz but around 10 seconds after turning on, it freezes then restarts. I'm pretty sure it's a flash memory issue, since I've had this problem with another Samsung TV in the past and I had no choice but to replace the whole main board, which is probably the only choice here also.
One thing I find strange is the flash SPI chip: I removed it, thinking I should try the old trick of wiping it then putting it back on the board, but it didn't work (the TV wouldn't turn on AT ALL with a blank chip), but after opening my serial programmer, the programmer detects it as a NEXFLASH or something like that, while the chip is clearly a winbond.....it DID read some code off of it and I managed to back it up and even write it back after I wiped the chip and that at least got the TV to boot, but it didn't solve the issue. What do you guys think ? SPI or flash memory ? Should I push on or just scrap it ? Should I replace the SPI chip or is it fine and there's no point in going through that trouble ? The TV boots, so I'd say the SPI chip is not faulty. Can somebody provide a dump for this TV ? I couldn't find one, but perhaps someone is able to share one. Cheers and thanks.
