    Panasonic Plasma TH-42PX60U - red LED blinks every 3 secs (no picture/sound/light)

    Hello again gentlemen and saviors,

    Panasonic Plasma TH-42PX60U - red LED blinks every 3 secs (no picture/sound/light)

    Between each blink of the front panel LED, the relays on P board click. Repeats endlessly.

    The blink code in the manual states "no particular test point." I took measurements from the power board.

    Hopefully those readings give someone a clue? Vsus on SC/SS boards is low (~300mV). I'm happy to make another PayPal donation to the forum.

          In the TH model I'm working on 3 blinks means loss of 15v rail.

              Thanks, brother. I'm also lacking 15V. However, I don't have 3 blinks, I have 1 blink every 3 seconds (see attachment).

              Bit the bullet and bought a "working" P board on eBay for ~$50 (couldn't find another TNPA3911 in stock anywhere else).

              I'll report back if this solves things. I wouldn't mind giving you the old P board if you want.

              EDIT: Forgot to mention I disconnected SU/SD boards from SC board and the same problem persisted. Re-seated EVERYTHING. Problem persisted.

                  Sorry read the post too hastily. One blink is SOS 3.3v and 12v so if 15v also gone sure sounds like power board.

                      The repair kits they sell on eBay, and at Coppell, consist of 2 fuses, a RJK5020 mosfet, (Q406) and a 10 ohm 139°c resistor. About $13. I don't know if that is for the 15v rail.
                      Check your parts and report back.

                          I bought the whole P board from electroparts_warehouse on eBay. I just put it in and the same problem persists.
                          I saw the kit, but the fuses are all good (there are 4 on the board). I'll test the MOSFET.

                              Generally 1 blink is an A board issue. The "no particular check point" refers to an unknown problem with the A board initialisation. Could be a problem with other boards, but those tend to trip up the other error codes. Most commonly would be a software or hardware issue with the A board that prevented it fully booting so you are having it fall back on the "general error" part. I guess it's the same as a PC blue screen. "I'm not sure what went wrong, but something did!"

                                  Ah, very good to know! The BSOD analogy makes sense. Thank you. I'll try ordering the A board.

                                  EDIT: Forgive me, but which would be the A board in this case? The H board? The D board? The attachment shows boards/functions.

                                      Hard to say, I'd think the set should trip an other code if H is bad, so DG seems likely...I guess which has the big main processors on it? The D board is for the panel only so not likely to be that.

                                          It looks like DT and DG boards have the biggest processors. DT board is only $20 and DG board is $44. I think I'll order those and report back. Thanks for your help!

                                                      anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
                                                      It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
                                                      I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
                                                      I checked that board for any obvious faults...

                                                      Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                                      Model number is TH-50PZ85U

                                                      Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

                                                      Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

                                                      I also hear a few clicks.

                                                      I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

                                                      Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

                                                      This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
                                                      About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
                                                      I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
                                                      I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments....

                                                      Samsung model # PN51E550D1FXZA plasma TV after a lightning hit (LAN cable was connected to TV). Standby LED on ok, but when pressing the power button, getting 2 blinks on the red LED, the screen flashes white for a second, and then cycles through this loop routine.
                                                      ALL voltages Vs, Ve, Vsc, Va check ok at SMPS output pins and at Main Board connector and X/Y drive board test points.
                                                      Noticed the Logic Board LED lights up green for a couple of seconds, hums lightly, then goes off during this cycling.
                                                      I've reseated ALL connectors and none of the boards have any burned traces or...

                                                      My Oct 2012 panny plasma quit working yesterday.
                                                      It was on when it happened. It let out a bit of burned plastic/circuit board smell. I was not able to find any burned parts though.
                                                      Now it produces 8 blinks. According to the repair manual, that points to SS/SS2 board(s).
                                                      I completed the steps in the guide: unplugged SS33, the TV turned on with a black screen, no blinking codes. Then I checked the continuity between pins 1 and 2 of the connectors SS52, SS54-SS57. The continuity is ok in all of them. Guide suggests to replace SS/SS2 boards so I placed an order...
