Hey guys and girls I have a tc-p65s2 I got it for free I knew it did not work. When I got it home and plugged it in I got 7 blinks I disconnected the sc board and I got 6 blinks. I ordered a sc board off eBay and put it in it powered up for less than a minute and shut down and I got 7 blinks again. This time I ordered su and sd and sc put it in tv powered on I hooked up my laptop to hdmi and I had a lot of pixelation all over.. I switched my laptop to 1080i and the picture cleared up. So I was super excited put the back cover on me and my wife carried it to our bedroom. I was watching the tv and fell asleep 😴 when I awoke this morning the tv was off blinking 10 times so I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it powered up for about 10 minutes and shut down and blinking 10 times.. So I unplugged it again and waited an hour or so now when I turn it on I get 7 blinks again.. I already spent close to $350 for the parts any suggestions on what I should do next it has such a clear picture when it works. Should I dump more money into it or should I just dump it? Any help is greatly appreciated.. Phil

Re: Panasonic TC-P65S2 issues money pit
One of the reasons some of these boards go out is due to improper grounding. Are you making sure that every screw is securely screwed in? You don't need to tighten them like a mad man, but make sure its snug.
The pixelation is strange, I am not sure what was going on there. Have you had a chance to look at the voltage output from your power supply board? Back in the older hitachi plasma TV's a few models were infamous for blowing IC chips on the buffer boards, and I don't know it is true or not but I was told that it was correlated to bulging capacitors on the power supply. I never got into Hitachi so I don't know if its true but it's possible your power supply is causing the failure. I don't know enough about this model to give you facts about it, but I figured since no one had posted an answer yet.
I look forward to seeing how this one turns out to be. -
Re: Panasonic TC-P65S2 issues money pit
Here is a panasonic guide I got it works for most models of plasma.
Hate to just stab at a guess but it could be your panel killing the buffer board. the sparkles is one of the signs. It also could be as simple as a bad connection. Also to confirm what Nick already said Panasonic plasmas are known for losing ground connection thru the screws. if you wanted to spend the time you could remove the board and look for evidence of black burn marks where the screw screws in or where the board makes contact.Comment

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

by BiruslapioBought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... -
by HKS00Hello Everyone,
My name is Haris and, I am new to the forum. I would appreciate any help I can get.
Little back story on me and the issues that we are dealing with...
I work on a fleet that uses Panasonic CF-20s we have about 65 of them. Up until the beginning of the year they all had warranty so all the repairs were covered. Fast-forward to now and all of the units are out of warranty and it can't be extended past this point. We don't have the budget this year to replace them, so we will be stuck trying to fix any issues that may come up.

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM - Loading...
