    Panasonic TX-P65ST50 Plasma Loud Buzzing

It's a 2012 model plasma TV. It seems like it has the loose screws issue as the buzzing is VERY loud with bright images and varies so much that it can't be ignored.

The buzzing isn't just coming from one corner.

Forget about my seating distance, the buzzing can be heard clearly from even 20ft away when the image is very bright, like a bee hive!

I hope it's not the power supply on it's way out.

Am I right that the back panel can be removed without removing the pedestal stand? It would make disassembly much easier.

Looks like I need the XYN3+F6FJ-18PK screw set if it's the screws that are loose as the originals don't seem to have lock washers.

Does anyone know of any equivalents to the XYN3+F6FJ-18PK that can be purchased from a hardware store?

I have scrapped 100s of tvs and saved most of the screws. The ones from older Samsung tvs with lock washers on them are what I use. I hand tighten them so they cant strip out. Just match up the lenght.

You could just tighten them up nice and firm and or a dab of non permanent loctite. I reckon they'll be M3 threads and then a matter of correct length as if they are too long you'll screw into the panel and crack.

Pre-2011 models have the better screws. Any freebies you could strip a lot of screws out of?

Or take a board screw out, take it with you and get the dimensions. Maybe a bolt store will have a better selection but you may have to get the washers loose.

True, I've used some too and pretty close to the panasonic bolt.

The existing screws already had lock washers on them. I tightened some of them up but it made no difference, loud buzzing is still there. What else could it be? The sound isn't coming from just the top-left board (looking from the front) and when I run the screen wiper the buzzing sound follows the white bar from left to right so it's not a localised sound.

That sounds like the panel itself is buzzing, so make sure they put the rubber spacers in place between the frame and the panel. You will have to take the facia of the TV off to do this, but the TV will usually stand up fine on the stand and the panel should be attached to the frame (though be very careful to make sure it is, otherwise it might fall and crack)

              Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
              by jm1234
              Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

              Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

Panasonic TC-P65ST50 plasma in protection mode after incident
              by HonkBeep04
Hello everyone! I picked up this 65" ST50 plasma TV for $80 on Facebook marketplace two weeks ago. I have the basic electronic knowledge of a teenage computer geek, having assembled laptops and PCs and messed with soldering and software.

This afternoon I decided to disassemble it to mitigate a buzzing noise. This is a well known issue for this TV ever since they were new. The popular solution is to replace the loose internal screws for ones with lock washers, preventing any future buzzing. I figured that I could just fully loosen and tighten all of the screws securing the...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
              by Alicat
              Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

              Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
              by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...
