    BACKLIGHTS ??? samsung UN60H6203AFXZA

I have a samsung UN60H6203AFXZA with issues to be completely honest I am a novice at best.I have replaced all three boards and the TV will not turn on unless I do not have the LED back lights connected power supply board. The TV does turn on but only when the LED lights are not connected to the power supply board I did a flashlight test that lets me see an image however I don't know how to tell if I need new LED lights or if my power supply board that I ordered was bad. I Am brand new to this site and do not know how to navigate it yet do not wish to break any kind of protocol just do not know where I should start seeking help at?

P.S. any advice is greatly appreciated

Do the backlights come on when you power up with the main board disconnected.
What DC voltages do you have on the backlight connector pins.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

no they do not power on when it is not connected to the mainboard... however when it is connected to the mainboard I can't even turn the TV on so I can't read the voltages right?

Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
              Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
              1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
              2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
              3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
              4 - etc.

just having the back lights connected to the PSU (nothing else), you plug the PSU in and it should fire up all rails and the back light should be on, as the PSU should have a pull up resistor to force itself on. If you plug the main board in and the TV doesn't turn on, there is a main board problem, since the main board does not return the PSon signal to the PSU to tell it to turn all the voltage rails and the back lights on.

We need to find out what DCV you have on the D+ (PIN 1) of the LED connector, so to do that:
                  1) Disconnect the cable between the main board and the power supply board.
                  2) make sure the LED connector is in place and connected to the power supply board.
                  3) Set meter to 200VDC then put the Black probe of the meter on the chassis.
                  4) Put the red probe on the D+ (PIN 1) of the LED connector, and you MUST KEEP that PROBE in place.
                  5) Apply AC to the power supply board and watch your meter to see how high the DCV goes up to, it will happen very fast so if you do not catch it the first time then you must remove the AC power and reapply it again about 10 seconds later.
You must follow the instructions to get accurate data.

                      Re: BACKLIGHTS ??? samsung UN60H6203AFXZA

Ok so on the power supply board going to the mainboard they're supposed to be 13 volts with the exception of the ground all of them read at 12.5 volts while the Led's are disconnected and the TV is powered on. I get a strange reading on the meter which is a number 1 when the Led's are disconnected & I try to read the voltages of the LED connection on the Power supply Board when I tried to read the LED's while connected I got a conflicted result it was all zeros however I contributed this to the fact that I was unable to turn the TV power on due to the fact that the power button is connected to the main board not the power supply even though the power cord for the power is on the power supply board not the main board like the power button

P.S. like i said before at best i'm a novice and
I truly do appreciate everyone's help.

Normally when your meter says 1 you need to move up to the next DC voltage range.

I did exactly what you said last night and could get nothing but a zero's. Then I tried this morning doing the same steps and it did work the meter jumped from 2.4 to 14.0 and fluctuated in between never settling on a number I also heard a clicking sound if you will in the front of the TV when I was able to get a reading this morning. but once the clicking sound stopped I was unable to get a reading anymore and it went back to zero. am I not able to get a reading because the board is holding a charge? I mean that doesn't make sense to me because if it's holding the charge then I should be able to read what it's holding right? I just know when I let it sit overnight and unplugged then it worked and I was able to pull a reading off of it this morning.

P.S. thanks again for all your help

Thanks for the suggestion that worked out I was able to get a reading of the LED connection on the power supply board with the LEDs NOT connected. both D+ pins read at 458 when i Set meter to 600VDC. I'm still not sure why I can't turn the TV on if the LED back lights are NOT connected though

So where is the reading with the LED CONNECTED as instructed?
Right now without the LED connected and you are getting that high of the voltage as I expected due to no load, so if the LED has open circuit then you will get the same high Voltage reading when the LED is connected, but if you get very low Voltage when LED is connected then you have shorted circuits in the LED string some where.

OK, now we need to check the resistance reading between chassis GND against each pin of the LED connector (LED connector in place) to see if any of them show low resistance, set the meter to 200 Ohm scale for now.

Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                                          2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...
