which begs the question what is it and what is it's purpose right. half wave length diode? printed adjacent to it is (STD Diode) I believe that must stand for standard diode I don't know. I have new strings, I will pull one out and test the reading on itLeave a comment:

No. If it was a diode you should read 0.5 (approx) showing on your meter if it is set to diode mode when the probes are across it in one direction but high/open when you swap the probes.Leave a comment:

yes testing in correct polarity I get a high reading, I reverse the leads and get an open, this seems normal to me for a diode?Leave a comment:

If you test using your meter set in diode mode ( --!<!-- ) does A7 look like a diode. High one way, 0.5 the other way?Leave a comment:

starting strings do not light up, they are the ones with the A7, if i disconnect the trailing string the trailing string will light up by it self, but the leading strip, the one with the connector to Power board will not light up as a string, only when i test each LED individually they will light up, so the A7 is blocking current to the entire string, Only the trailing string will light up all by it self with the tester, the leading string will not.Last edited by LITEZONER; 06-09-2017, 10:50 AM.Leave a comment:

there is an A7 on every strip, none of them light all together up but every LED tested good individually. A7 are only on the lead strip where they connect, trailing strips light up fine together.Last edited by LITEZONER; 06-09-2017, 09:52 AM.Leave a comment:

so in testing the LED strips I came across an issue i have not seen before. most may already know but i didn't. after much reading i decided to buy an LED tester (GOLDEN) My strips will not light up HOWEVER all led lamps tested good and do light up individually, Problem seems to be this little fuse of diode not sure exactly what it is but it no longer allows the flow of current to the strips, see Pictures, so i have perfectly good LED's but bad tiny i will call them fuses for now, thought about bridging them, but then came to realize they are what i believe to be protection against power surges possibly, any thoughts from you pros is appreciated, i have read about the high failure rate on these LED strips in Hitachi sets, may not be the LED's at all, just this little fuse? I own a Hitachi 50HK6100U with a display fault. After some troubleshooting, I've found that removing one tcon cable produces a clear image on the side still connected. Removing the other tcon still provides display output; however, this is a heavily distorted image. With both cables connected, only the top ~25% of the screen provides display output which is still distorted. It's only when both are connected that most of the screen no longer provides output. The attached images show the screen with each tcon cable disconnected, and one with both connected. The red line shows where the display cuts... -
I have a Hitachi 57F710E Rear Projection TV that was working great until 3 or 4 days ago. I came in and tried to turn it on and it was just dead. So, I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Nothing, not even the slight click that it makes when you plug it in. So, I removed the power supply board (It's a vertically mounted board, I believe model HA01312) and inspected it visually for bulged caps or burnt or overheated components, anything that didn't look right and couldn't find anything.
I noticed on the bottom of the board there was a row of solder joints with voltages printed next... -
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?
I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.
The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't... -
I have a TCL 43S435 with no backlights. I contacted ShopJimmy and they said power supply. I got replacement power supply, but still doesnt work. I have confirmed that there is an image with flashlight test. I have also verified that the led strips work when I probe them with LED tester. Any ideas would be helpful. I am also geting a double blink on the status led when trying to turn it on......Nothing on the power supply looks suspect, and caps look ok. Where should I start to test......Thanks!...
