Sony KDL46Z4500 vertical lines - Resolved.

    Hi,

I had this vertical lines problem for the last few weeks (please see images).
I checked loose coonections around PCBS and tabs for LCD screen etc and had no luck.

After reading tge informaton on this site, suspected the TCON board and managed to buy a used one. Fitted the board yesterday, all OK now.

Thought of sharing the symptom images, hoping they would help someone to determine the faulty component.

    Regards,

Thanks for posting. Looks to me like it would have been bad panel. Glad t-con fixed it.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

      Hi,
Yes.. I had the same doubt that it could be a faulty panel.
When I found out this TCON board has 4 processors, each controlling quater of the LCD panel, I took the chance to purchase an used board to try. The symptom was continously occurring on 3rd quater of the panel.

      Regards,

It looks as though you still have an issue. Just to the right of the Sony badge going up around a third of the screen?

Just to clarify, all images attached in my posting were taken prior to replacing the TCON board.
          Photo 1 & 2 - with no input signal
Photo 3- when watching a TV channel

No Dick, I think those were his images of the fault symptom.

That's good new then and a happy conclusion.

                Sony KDL-40V3000 - Vertical lines
                by gpo23
                Hello,

                i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                Thank you for your help

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
                by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

                Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines
                by dustman1747
I have acquired a Sony XBR-65X900H to try and fix. It probably was a complete no power situation. The main board was replaced and the TV started turning on. I now have start sounds and backlights, but no image. I've replaced the t-con with no improvement. Cables all appear to be ok and seated properly. The TV took a firmware update and hard reset but neither helped.

Using the tape trick I can get both side to display combinations of colored vertical lines. There is no change in the stripes and the pattern always appears the same. If I add additional tape strips I can get the screen...

Three vertical lines without t-con board connected: Sony 55X8000F
                by iampivot
I have a Sony 55x8000f that has three vertical lines (three different colors), with the lines still showing when the cable from t-con board to the panel is disconnected. Am wondering what might be causing this? Unfixable panel problem?
