Backlight, but no video on Panasonic TC-L39EM60 LCD TV

I'm working on this Panasonic LCD and it's really got me stumped. It'll power on and light up the backlight, but nothing appears on the screen. It isn't locked up, as it can still be powered off by way of the power button, but what I don't know if any sound is playing or not. I tried replacing the mainboard, but ended up with the same problem.

The power supply is putting out good voltage on all of its rails and reading 4Volts at PWON and 3.3Volts at ACD, DIM, and BLON. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Disconnect one ribbon at a time and see if you get picture
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

+1.. What voltage are you getting on each side of the fuse?...Should be 12Vdc.

Nothing. At least when disconnecting the ribbons going from the T CON to the panel one-at-a-time.

I would be checking various voltages on t-con

Re: Backlight, but no video on Panasonic TC-L39EM60 LCD TV

The five top voltages to be checked for a healthy T-CON are:
              1. Vin (Vcc): 12Vdc or 5Vdc
              2. Vdd (Vlogic, Vddd): 3.3Vdc
              3. Vda (Vs, Vsource, Vdda,Avdd): 14Vdc~20Vdc
              4. Vgh (Vgon, Von, Vddg): 20Vdc~30Vdc
              5. Vgl (Vgoff, Voff, Veeg): -5Vdc~-7Vdc

                Fixed!!

T-CON it was! Everything is in working order now; Thanks for the tips.

Now, to see about returning that mainboard...

Samsung UN55H8000 sound but no backlight no video

                  Hi all,

Ok so I have this beautiful un55h8000 samsung tv with sound but no video nor backlight. When turning the set on the red light blinks 5 times.

The screen shows no damage and backlight turns on when I disconnect the power supply from the main board. The tcon board only has 2 out of 3 leds on.

I came across this page and followed the different steps: https://techhometravel.com/samsung-u...ight-no-video/

Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
                  by JaquesPratt
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U - Replaced Backlight LEDs but now no image/display or garbled
                  by signal.quest
I have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...

                  by triplefour
this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...
