TOSHIBA 48L1433DG no display

Hy, My TV 48L1433DG is out.
After firmare updated, Led backlight is ok, remote control is ok, but no display.

I research complete firmware (3 files : mboot.bin, mb90_en.bin and usb_auto_update_A1.txt).

Hello,

I research serial UART PC configuration to loging with my TV.
I connected FTDI232-3.3v to input UART and start TV power.
The font are illegible.

You may be attempting to communicate at the wrong Baud rate.

It's seems to me that baudrate is 115200.
I use "termite" software
If I change baudrate 9600 to 115200, is the same problem.

The service manual should tell you what the set up should be.
I would think it would be the same for all the Toshiba sets.

Just going from memory there are quite a few variables
The Baud Rate
The number of Data Bits
The Start Bit
The number of Stop Bits
Parity
There's also a delay between reading data bits you can set so the buffer doesn't overrun.


Edit
Short the TX/RX line and enable Echo Character and check that what you type on the terminal is what you see coming back.

Use realterm

In SPI flah ic (is for mboot.bin) i think is stored EDID for LCD panel.That's what I remember,maybe I'm wrong.
When I'm on PC I'll check that.

What firmware you used for update?

What LCD panel are in TV?

Hy,

Panel is : VESTEL VES480UVS-M01

At the begenning, my TV don't start, blinking led red/green (0.5seconde), no action with remote.
I read serial eeprom with CH341A. and compare with mboot.bin (firmware 10082828_27092518_40D1333B, 3 files), 50% of data are corrupt.
I copy mboot.bin in eeprom MX25L1606E.

After, I copy in USB flash mb90_en.bin with usb_auto_update_A1.txt
On start TV press ok and boot in USB flash is ok.

At end, remote controle is ok, backlignt is ok, but no display is present (logo, menu,...).
I suppose that the firmware is not compatible.

Put your EEPROM in the freezer for 10 mins then try reading it again using your CH341A.
If that doesn't work try heating it up but not too hot and try reading it again.

I can't find firmware 10082828_27092518_40D1333B
On Toshiba support is only firmware with upgrade_mb90.bin file ,no mboot.bin.

What mboot.bin you used? Dumped by someone or from other firmware,most of dumped are 2MB but from other firmware may have only 1MB to preserve some setting,panel type,logo etc.

On mboot.bin at offset 0x01e1680 are 100h bytes with EDID.
Compare that area from original dumped bin with what you have now in mboot.bin.

I used mboot.bin with 1MB not 2MB
no data after FFCCB, 1MB of course.

In the elektroda.pl forum, I find 2MB files for the 48L3433DG, same TV family
Topic is : Toshiba 48L3433DG wsad SPI

It's for same panel VES480UNVS-M01

Problem : I have not point enough to download this.

From quick look at mboot.bin there are two kind.

Like one you posted earlier

On another one from other TV

You can't swap them,are incompatible and result as kernel panic,doesn't know how too boot firmware from NAND.

If dump are really from same type of TV try to upgrade again.
Post your original,untouched dump first time made.

I found used mainboard of similar TV.
When I reveive it, I wil copy the Flash memory to store bin file.

I received my mainboard Vestel 17MB95S-1, second and.
I copy and saved the bin file of MX25L1606E whis CH341A tool.
Unfortunately, the used board is KO, no start TV.

I recopy the MX25L1606E bin file into old mainboard and tested.
The TV start correctly and I have sreen now.
But the picture is bad.
I suppose the panel detect is not good. see the picture

What is the factory reset mode ?
