So I have an old astrobeam lcd projector that at first needed a tap/knock on it to get picture back (picture kind of faded away colors went off etc at last image went to blue). At first I thought that it was caused by faulty picture clock oscillator, but I tried working oscillators and it did not went any better, so after that I concluded that there is somekind of problem with the cpu pw166b (since all colors went off not olny one or two and it had nothing to do with the inputs, applying pressure near the cpu chip area made the picture to come back) and I tried heating it, but after heating there seems to be a solder bridge in the bga since it displays only blue image, but all the buttons etc work.
If anybody has run into similar problems let me know If I am correct with my diagnosis. To confirm my diagnosis I am going to solder off the cpu and and try resoldring it, and if the same issue occurs then I am hoping to find a working cpu from circa 2003-2006 era lcd monitors with cracked screens, faulty lamps, faulty interverters.
Here is the closest sdervice manual I could find : https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...bc86c0c715.pdf
and manual for lcd tv.
