    Philips 42PUS7809/12 HDMI Fault

    Hi,

My Philips 42PUS7809/12 displays a black screen on all HDMI inputs but only for certain sources. (It knows a signal is received, by there is no picture or sound.) I've got another identical TV and this one works with the same sources/cables so it's most likely a fault with the main board.

Can I replace the main board with one from the same series but different size screen (i.e. 55PUS7809/12)? I've found one for sale at a good price. Is it just a matter of changing the Screen Diversity Code and Option Codes to match the existing board? In the SAM I notice I can also change the model numbers so they look to be interchangeable.

That is unless someone has another idea on what might be causing the black screen?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Use heat blower and try to heat up the Hdmi switch and the hdmi connectors on the main board ,some times solder connections on the Switches and on the connectors get bad,it could also be a bad Hdmi switch.
