usp440m-42lp - Issue starting from warm

Someone from work asked me to have a look at their 42" Tevion branded Plasma TV.

The set starts ok from cold, but if left on for 3 or 4 hours, and then switched off, and then tried to start while the set is still warm, it won't switch on. And even the red/green LED at the front won't illuminate.

If the set is left for a few hours to go cold again, and started, it will start up ok. LED at the front comes back on too.

I've opened the back, and no signs of any bulging caps, or any other damage for that matter.

Parts inside seem to be mainly LG boards, and look the same as posted in the other similar threads for this PSU.

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/search...archid=8188591

I've gone through those threads, but no one is having the same problem as I'm seeing with this set.

Any ideas where to start on this issue?

Sounds like you are losing standby. Try cooling components when tv won't come on till you see led come on.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Acer Helios 500 (PH517-51) - unexpected reboots when laptop is warm (cold solder joint issue?)
      by Mirenia
      Hi everyone,

got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:

The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.

At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.

ASUS Prime Z390-A not starting up - possible issue with PCH
      by karlp028
I'm working on an ASUS Prime Z390-A that isn't reacting to the power button. All of the standby voltages and signals are good. The PCH is receiving O_PWRBTN#, but it is not de-asserting SLP_S3#, SLP_S4#, or SLP_S5#. I started probing around and noticed the voltage on RTCX2 is around 1.5V, which seems crazy high. On RTCX1 it is around 300mV, which is normal. I don't see any waveform either. When the PCH is not powered, the resistance on RTCX1 is about 2.5M ohms and on RTCX2 it's about 8.5M ohms. When the PCH is powered on, RTCX1 shows about 7M ohms and RTCX2 shows OL.

      I suspect the...

Laptop mouse & KB NOT available on power option restart but available only when laptop is cold booted using power button
      by Sanjit Keskar
I have this inexplicable problem from yesterday

Each time i start my laptop by pushing the physical power button in, the laptop keyboard and touchpad are available to me for use when the system has booted to the desktop (I can enter the bios by pressing on F10 too) irrespective of whether the laptop is powered by the AC adapter or the battery. This is normal behaviour

BUT NOW FOR THE ABNORMAL PART

However, when using the laptop normally, if i choose restart from the power options, the touchpad and mouse are non-functional when the system has booted to the...

I need help with my friend Sony GDM-FW900 24” CRT
      by matthewmcconaughey
Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.

I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.
      1. It started with a bright and greenish picture upon starting a cold monitor.
      2. About 2 years ago, only on the cold boot, the screen started to occasionally flash with

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
      by rounin
      Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

      🛠 Original Issue
      The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
