Sony Bravia KDL-46HX800 6 blinks troubleshooting

    Hi fellas,

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Sony Bravia KDL-46HX800 and have been looking around for the past couple of days for a solution. I have found the Service Manual, gone through it, and would now hope to get a second opinion on how to interpret the Manual's instructions.

The TV turns on normally for 27-31 seconds with the picture coming on fine, but then it shuts down automatically and gives 6 blinks of the standby LED. From the service manual this indicates a Backlight Error (picture 1).
Testing the voltage at "PANEL_FAIL" (which from cross-referencing the schematics appears to be BL_ERR on the BAL board), I'm getting 3.25 Volts when the TV is on and 0 Volts when it shuts down automatically.

When following the flowchart and taking the BL_ERR voltage reading of 3.25V would I be correct in changing the G* board first, and if that doesn't work the T-CON board next? Also I am assuming that the G* board is in fact the G4E board (looks like the power supply unit) referred to in the picture 2. Is this correct?

    Cheers!

given that it has a samsung led driver board,I would not be surprised to find some failed led's in the set nd that the bl-err is a legit responds.
