Hi fellas,

I'm trying to troubleshoot a [B]Sony Bravia KDL-46HX800[/B] and have been looking around for the past couple of days for a solution. I have found the Service Manual, gone through it, and would now hope to get a second opinion on how to interpret the Manual's instructions.

The TV turns on normally for 27-31 seconds with the picture coming on fine, but then it shuts down automatically and gives 6 blinks of the standby LED. From the service manual this indicates a Backlight Error (picture 1).
