JVC JLC37BC3002 Glitching out and crashing to standby

    Hey everyone,

I got a jvc jlc37bc3002 from a friend, and i can turn it on to the logo but when it does one of 2 things happen either the logo comes on and turns off again or the logo comes on and it will crash in a spectacle of graphical glitches and then turns off.

Each time it turns off it goes back to the stand-by light, but won't turn back on until i unplug and plug it back in again.

I've got the Voltage Regulator readings:
UP3: All i can read on it is 1117, line 1 is something like DH11D or something
    1: .258
    2: 1.524
    3: 3.35

    UP16: AX1008
    12101
    1: 2.04
    2: 3.28
    3: 5.15

    UP13: H1117C
    1.2 212
    1: 2.00
    2: 1.207
    3: 3.35

And i've checked the 2 gold capped fuses at FP1 and FP2 and both read around 5v on both sides.

    Thanks for the help

What are the voltages on connector CN201.

If you unplug the main board and power up do the backlights come on?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Disconnect main board and connect 5.1VSB to ON/OFF using 1K resistor. Switch on and check if 12V supply is there.

          I got 11.90 on all 3 12v pins

It looks as though it is losing the Power On/Off signal from the main board, possibly because of a fault on the mainboard turning it off.
Can you reconnect the mainboard and watch what happens
            1) to the ON/OFF voltage when you power up
            2) and also repeat but monitoring the +12V pin.

The ON/OFF maintained a voltage of 3.29 after pushing the power button and the 12v pins maintained 12v this time even after going back to stand by

All though I repeated this and while the ON/OFF was the same this time the 12v pins fluctuated between 5 and 0

So you are saying that when you initially monitored the ON/OFF with the main board connected it had 3.29V when powered up and the 12V supply was there.

When you powered off and then back on at some point, the ON/OFF was 3.29V but the 12V was cycling between 5V to 0V?
Have I read your reply correctly.

Caution about those two ON/OFF pins, they are NOT the same and they are not connected together either.
Look at the bottom side of the board LABLES, one of them is PS-ON, another one is for BL-ON.

OK so I tested the CN/OFF pin as well and it comes to 4.7
And it seems it now takes multiple power button pushes to get the red standby light to GoTo the white turning on light and that's when I can get the 12v on the 12v pins

                            Basic testing.

Disconnect the mainboard from the power supply. On the power supply connect a 1K resistor between 5.1Vstb to ON/OFF pin.
Measure the 12V to see if it's there.
                            Do the backlights come on.

If the 12V supply is there but no backlights then use a second 1K resistor and connect between 5.1V stb and CN/OFF

                            What results do you get?
