    Samsung PN60F5500AF Won't Turn On

So I got this TV in hopes of repairing it. I was trying to figure it out on my own, but haven't really gotten anywhere. At first I thought it was the power board because when plugged in it would only flash the stand-by light five times, stop for a few seconds and then do it again.

However, after replacing the power board it still does the same thing. It will flash the red light five times and makes a slight humming beep noise if that makes sense. Also, the screen does light up, it just doesn't display anything. It just lights up black.

Another thing I noticed is that on the main board the green indicator light does flash on and off repeatedly. I tried disconnecting the T-Con board but with that disconnected it still does the same thing.

Would this be a main board issue, or it could it be something else entirely?

Any help would be appreciated, and I can also post pictures up if need be.

    Thank you!

I figured I would go ahead and take some photos of it and attach them here.

What voltages do you have on each connector shown?
      VS=
      VA=
      etc

Willing to help but I'm no expert.

The readings I am getting fluctuate all over the place, they range from okay to nothing. The TV appears to cycle on and flash a back-light and then it cycles off again after maybe five seconds. Then it comes back on and repeats the cycle.

I did however use my other Samsung's remote and the TV does respond to it when I press the power button. It just causes it to turn on and display the same symptoms. Not sure if that is relevant or not.

And when I disconnect any of the boards from receiving power it just appears to run the same symptoms. Only one I can't disconnect and see is the main board since it is linked directly to the power button and the receiver for the remote.

When I disconnect the Y-Main board it just stops the screen from lighting up is all. So I don't know if it could be related to that.

I'm currently working on the same model. Have you tried forcing a colour test? On the main logic board near the top are four holes numbered 1 to 4. With the power off jumper holes 3 and 4 with a bent piece of copper wire. Once the jumpers in place power on the tv and see if it cycles through the colours.

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
            by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
            by Nicktronic
            Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

            Anybody...
