see what other peoples thoughts on it possibly being a bga issue first as you could do damage trying to remove the heatsink (glued on i think but usually come of quite easily) i have a hot air station but in the past have used a heat gun on them but its quite risky as too much heat can damage them too. basically you just want to melt/reflow the solder balls under the ic (but this sometimes only last a short while) but that may not be the issue it could be a lot of diffrent things

    It's all explained in post # 1.
how do I get that finned heat sink off the chip? Just heat everything and try to get it to flow?

ive had a quick look for a replacement board but cant seem to find one to match so not sure what too suggest now i dont know if these sets suffer from bad bga soldering on the chip thats under the black heatsink, i wonder if its worth removing the heat sink and reflowing that ic with some heat? the only other option i guess is to phone around and see if theres a repair service available? A question though have you saw this tv working? is the panel fine no lines etc as if so it may not be worth spending too much cash on this tv.

Hi, Reecey, I've tried to find this board on any site I could find that has samsung manuals etc. but no joy, this is a real odd ball. It has 50+ caps, various chips and ic's etc. but no fuses and no recognizable no's on the board that makes sense (3 small paper tags). I'm attaching some pic's of the top of the board and 1 of the bottom which has a bar code and a no. I;m also sending pic of the logic that is screwed on top of it that has the regular type no.s.
Hope you can help. Tessting of all these components if way above my pay grade. :-)

I guess I'll have to check on another manual because looking at the 1 shown don't seem to have a tuner??? and the parts description calls it a LOGIC-main board.

Did you get that link to work? THe board listed as no. 2 they call the main board. Why are electronic nomenclature so confusing? in mechanics we don't call a piston a wheel. lol.
    Oops , already ordered. :-(

well if you have ordered that board it maybe the wrong one but let someone else confirm, we was using the jumpers on that board to see which board was faulty which it points too the main board the one with the hdmi/tuner on hence peoples comments regarding the tuner but hey i could be totally wrong let someone else confirm which board you need to replace.

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...
