    looking for advice before buying

hey guys i have a question.

i was at a retail store (in Canada) i was looking in the TV section and the sales person showed me a floor model that had a single red line down the right side of the screen. i forget the model but it was an LG (or Samsung i cant remember) 65" 4k the sales person said it was a high end model (it has a connection block that you plug your devices into, the block has a single cable to TV. kind of like a hub if that helps) the listed price was $2299 it was advertised on clearance for $1099 and the sales guy said he would sell it for $600. he said there is a still a year manufacture warranty on it. so basically im just wondering if these would be a good deal? is it possible that i could use the warranty coverage to get it fixed? or perhaps i could try to repair it myself? what do you guys think?

do you guys have any advice?

    thanks for the help

      dont touch it.
the warranty is probably void because it was a display model before you purchased it - so your second-user.
and it's probably a bad panel - 99.9% of the total cost!!

tell the sales-bod to do a warranty return and stop trying to victimise people.

When the sales guy moves his lips, he is likely lying to you.

Offer him $100 and see what he says.

If you buy a TV, consider Costco. They have a very generous return policy and a reasonably priced optional extended warranty.

I generally don't buy extended warranties, but depending on how much you spend on the TV, it might make sense with Costco.

I have a friend who bought a 65 inch TV from Costco. 7 months later, it had a problem. I don't recall the exact symptoms, but he took it back to Costco and with no questions asked, got a complete no hassles 100% refund.

Hello, I was thinking about purchasing the attached picture. But, I didn't know if a white bar on a samsung 50" 4k TV was repairable. I would do all the research of replacing components. I just need to know if I should attempt to do so. Thank you.

Hamie I don't think he bought tv yet. Don't buy that tv bad panel or any. Post on craigslist you will pick up nonworking Tv's free. You will get a lot of spare parts, but I've picked up some nice Tv's that way.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

I haven't picked it up but was verifying if it was fixable. Thank you both, I'll keep looking around.

My mother may soon need to upgrade from Win7 (to continue safe browsing, e-mail, and office tasks, without a printer). Right now, she uses an Intel Core2Quad 9550 CPU (not sure of motherboard). Video is either the Radeon 6670 or 6770, completely air-cooled, with fins like a motorcycle engine (I think I pointed a 120mm fan at it). PSU is probably Seasonic, still running after 14 years (I choose quality). I am not sure of the RAM, or the PCI-e wifi chip. Probably 8 GB or 16 GB. Perfect for WIndows 7.

She does not want to switch to Linux. And she does not want to use a laptop because...
