    TH-42PX80U 10 Blinks

My friend gave me this tv to repair. I know there was a problem with the psu. I replaced the fuses, the bridge rectifier, the 10 ohm ceramic resistor, and the problematic gate. After I did that the fuses never popped but the tv never lights up. I used the troubleshooting manual for a 42pz80u since that's all I had. So it told me before it shuts down do I have 15v on pins 7,8,9 on p6 and I did. I unplugged a1, a11, and a52 and I still received the same blinks and it still shut down. I'm sure it's still the power supply since I don't get any blinks on the sc or ss boards but the troubleshooting guide points to the a board. Ideas?

U said u replaced the fuse, rectifier, ceramic resistor, and power mosfet. Only thing left to do is inspect/change the 3 power diodes.

The three power diodes are reading normal. No shorts. This one has me stumped. I have metered almost everything on the board.

I will have to check but I'm pretty sure i have a fully functioning one sitting here.
If I do,I'm more then willing to use it as a test pilot for yours. test voltages, values and what not. Will let you know tomorrow if I do indeed have one.

Thank you Martino. I know I'm not getting any voltage going to the SS or SC boards. But I know I get 15v on pins 7,8,9.

            Double check the components again?

I was mistaken, I appear to not have one of these.

I have just been reading a few threads on the internet a lot of people who have the 10 blink issue have found its a mainboard issue not a power supply issue.
Not sure but maybe the 11th generation training manual will help?

The OP said the fuse blew on the power supply before replacing it.

What part did you replace the power mosfet with? original?
Are the ribbon cables seated correctly when you re-assembled?

may of been a victim of a lightening strike/power surge and damaged both boards?

                      by CrewmanRedShirt
                      Hello all,
As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...

                      by Dogindelusion
Hi everyone! I am a new member and am new to electronics repair. I have a background in electrical engineering, but little experience in electronics.

I have a Sony XR-77A80K which will not turn on and has 5 blinking red lights in the stand-by light. I had previously done a forced factory reset, which removed the error code, and the TV regained functionality for a few weeks. I repeated the factory reset and again regained functionality. This happened a few times until I so I had to begin troubleshooting the error.

                      Observations:
                      1) I noticed I was not getting...

                      by Biruslapio
Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
                      https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

                      Unfortunately the 5-blinks...
