LG Plasma 60PZ950 sound but no picture - intermittent

This board has been super helpful, so I'll say thanks ahead of time for all the knowledge you guys have. My dad has an LG 60PZ950 that's a few years old. It started having the 'pink blotchy' issue that's been reported here before. I tried reflowing the solder joints around the coils but the issue always came back.

We broke down and bought new Z-SUS and Y-SUS boards that came new through a local LG parts supplier. We replaced both boards and the problem went away. However...

Now my dad reports that the TV will lose the picture sometimes but sound will remain. Sometimes he can watch TV for 5+ hours without issue, sometimes it happens soon after turning it on. The problem resolves itself after shutting the TV off and then back on again, but of course this is annoying and probably only gets worse from here.

Any ideas on what's going on? Could replacing the y&z boards have caused this additional issue or is this something new entirely? I'm tempted to just buy a new main power board, but wanted some input first. Thanks!

    Could be caused by anything.
You'd need to check voltages when the picture disappears.

Press on the boards using the butt of a screwdriver see if pressing on them makes the picture come and go.

If so it's a bad solder connection somewhere.

But as I said, any of the boards can cause no picture.

Can the menu still be brought up on screen when the picture is lost?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

No menu when it goes blank.

What are the chances that the 'new' z&y sus boards from LG are bad? I mean, the issue didn't crop up until replacing them. I'm thinking of putting the old boards back in, which I'm sure will resurrect the 'pink' issue, but if the black screen issue goes away maybe we've narrowed down the issue?
