Samsung LED TV UN60EH6000F NoVideo

No Video, NO OSD, Has backlight, you can hear the music when it turns on. Shopjimmy had several case historys that point to the Tcon board. What are the troubleshooting technics to determine Tcon or main board? Hooked up a dvd player to the set, and there was no video or audio.

Definitely a bad T-con

you can replace your T-con board for $120 from shopjimmy or you can purchase one of the repair services offered for that model board for $79.95

and many similar revisions all have a common failures that we have seen dozens of times. If you check capacitor C7104 on your T-con you will see a short between both sides of the cap. That cap is located on the middle right side of the board. If you find a short between both sides of that cap, then you most definitely have a bad T-con.

I have done research and came up with nothing. I am talking in general on a Samsung LED TV What are the troubleshooting steps to determine if it is a main board issue or a T con board. I am the student here. Others that have the knowledge are the teachers. When you have backlights, but no OSD, or video on any inputs, its either Tcon, Main, or panel. Pictures? I am certain you have seen enough LED tv's by now. I know that they are all different in design. But surely there are standard troubleshooting steps that are the same on a lot of them. Doesn't anyone do component level repair on main boards anymore? Any idea's on where to do this research that your talking about? What voltages do you want? Any time i send a picture, it's never good enough quality. Even just a few case histories of similar Samsung problems might help. As far as your rude comment. You gave me nothing that helped.

Thank you for your help. That is sure a lot for a Tcon board. Darn. I can't get people to pay that anymore. That would put the repair up over 200.00 New 4k at Walmart is 428.00 What is this service for 79.00 that your talking about.

You mentioned common failures. What are the common failures? Have you done any component level repairs on these Tcons.

As a general rule of thumb, if you can get 12 volts from the main board to the T-con board then the main board is usually ok. And yes in this scenario the model tv you have is very well known for having bad T-con issues which is why they are so expensive. We have fixed these on a components level dozens of times now but it is a more advance repair than most boards. One of the chips that needs to be replaced on your board will require advanced soldering skills.

OP=orginal poster how is that rude ? My comment was far from rude, just saying that nothing of much help has been added like no voltages have been tested no bias or Vgh has been tested or listed. All you need to do is look for how to test Tcon voltages to determine your Tcon is faulty.

tcon can be disconnected and if you can blindly switch sources you should get sound.

Sorry Reeceyburger123 my mistake. This could only happen to me because of my past. I am very short and as a kid, I had very red hair. Top show on tv was Andy Griffith Show. OK I checked for voltage on the Tcon board.. The main board is getting 12 volt to the Tcon. I unplugged the tv, unhooked one side of Tcon going to Panel, turned set back on still just a light blue screen, did the same thing on the other side. Same thing. So is that good news? just a Bad Tcon? Here are some pictures of the set. If you need voltages I can get those too.

I unplugged the tv, unhooked one side of Tcon going to Panel, turned set back on still just a light blue screen, did the same thing on the other side. Same thing. So is that good news? just a Bad Tcon? Here are some pictures of the set. If you need voltages I can get those too.
