Have a vf550xvt1a. Powers on...panel comes up slowly with horizontal bands from the bottom up...fills the panel then some vertical lines. Tried inputting dvd...came on and perfect picture and sound...ran the entire dvd without problem. Powered down then same problem powering back on. Not using a remote.....opened and re set all connectors...also on Tcon board....any direction?

Re: Vizio VF 550XVT1A
Just want to make sure we are getting this right.
You turned the tv on, and you had both vertical and horizontal lines appear on screen. Then as soon as a dvd player was hooked up everything cleared up instantly and played fine. Then right after the movie was done you turned the tv off and right back on again and the problem came back? That is what I believe you have mentioned above.
However I think what you meant to say is that after the tv had time to warm up, it slowly started fixing itself until it was all the way warmed up and then played fine. This also happened the next day after you let the set cool down.
If I am correct then you have a bad panel. -
Re: Vizio VF 550XVT1A
Nick...thanks for the response....tv turns on ok with console button....takes a few seconds and then wide horizontal bands slowly work their way up the panel....one 3" to 4" band at a time....
Turned it on the other day...not long enough to warm up...connected dvd and went thru the input options...suddenly responded and played for over an hour great...turned off...on again in a few minutes, back to horizontal bands...thinking t-con but I am new to repairs...doing so as a hobby since I have an endless supply of broken tv's....also have a Vizio 70" giving me fits....need pointed in the right direction. Don't know how to determine if a panel is bad...Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by rapid911Hi guys, I have a Vizio M58Q7-J01 and now there are some colored horizontal lines on the screen. Could someone tell me if it's probably a panel issue or something related to other parts and can be fixed? Thank you in advance....

by oxi1158Hi all,
My TV had been showing for the last year some faint horizontal lines on all of its right side, about one out of each 4 of 5 rows of pixels. Not much of a bother, they were unnoticeable when watching a movie. Then, all of a sudden the horizontal lines became much stronger and crossed the whole screen, effectively making it a pain to watch.
I watched some youtube video where some guy "fixes" it with some tape on the ribbon cable of the t-con, so I tried that, but to no avail. Actually, after putting the TV back together again things worsened: apart... -
